Carlisle's most promenient personality trade is his passion for helping others. He is very self less and will help anyone. He is a deeply compassionate person, and he is also very non-judgemental. He doesnt care what you've done or what you are going to do he will still help. Also being very pacient, he will sit and listen to someones problem and then think about it deeply before giving an anwser back or giving advice on the matter.
Carlisle is also a very loving person. Being alone for so long he craved someone to love and when he found Edward he knew that he would take care of him. Carlisle sees all his covern as his children just as his wife does. He accepts them for who and what they are and just loves them regardless. FULL LENGTH HISTORY:
Carlisle James Cullen was born in 1643 to an angelic pastor in London, England. He was brought up to believe vampires, werewolfs and other creatures of the paranormal where evil. His father would lead witch hunts to kill the 'evil'. However sometimes they would end up killing innocent people. As his father got older he put Carlisle in charge of the raids. Carlisle was uncomfortable about killing people. However he was clever enough to find a real covern of vampires living in the sewars beneath London.
Leading the party to kill the vampires, one of the covern emerged. Completely passed over to blood lust they attacked carlise and left him for dead in the street. When Carlisle finally felt the venom kick in he dragged himself towards a potato celler because he knew what his father did to creatures like what he was about to turn into. Enduring the pain for three days he managed to keep quiet. When he woke from the painful transformation he was appaled at what he had become.
He tried very hard to kill himself, to destroy what he had become. Even refusing to drink, he was bringing himself to starvation. Moving away from citys to resist the temptation of blood, he hid in the forest. Blood lust overcomign him he attacked a hear of deer. Realising he could feed without hurting humans he continued on with the diet of animal blood. Carlisle enjoyed tis new way of life and knew that he continue his life. Studying by night, he hid away by day.
Drinking in as much knowladge as he could, he devoted himself to his studys. Becoming a fantastic doctor. He traveled a lot around Europe and soon studied in Italy. Discovering another covern of vampires he joined them for a few centurys. He knew them as the volturi. They were almost the royal family of the vampire world. Passing rules and making sure vampires didnt break them. He found out that they were much more sophisticated and inteligent than the ones in the sewers although they did live off of human blood. They tried many a time to convert Carlisle back to their diet but he refused.
Moving to America to see what he could get from there he became a doctor and started to work nights in a hospital in Chicago. It was during the spanish influenza epidemic. During his work he became close to a family. Elizabeth Mason and her son Edward. Jr. He felt sorry for them as they had lost a husband and father a few days previous. He knew that Elizabeth was doing everything she could from her son from her own sick bed but could not provide the care a hospital could. On her death bed she asked Carlisle to help her son. She looked like she knew his secret, something in her eyes told him that she knew. So he agreed.
Being alone for so long he had been thinking about turing another, so he would have someone. He didnt want to put another living soul through that sort of pain. But he knew that Edward had no choice so he turned him. Seeing Edward as his son, he helped the lad become a vegetarian vampire like himself. But Edward was not as dedicated to it as Carlisle was himself. Soon after he turned Edward he moved Wisconsin and worked in a hospital there. He worked there for a few years, treating a young girl called Esme for a broken leg when she was 15. He soon encountered her again in a morgue. He could still hear her heart beat, but she was badly hurt after throwing herself off a cliff cause her baby had died.
Turning Esme too, he soon fell in love with her and married her. Moving to Rochester, New York. He found a young girl lying in the street having been raped by her drunken fiancee. He took her home and changed her, hoping she would be a mate to Edward. However he was not interested in her. Not long after, Rosalie was out hunting and found a young man that had been mauled by a bear. She carried him over 100 miles to Carlisle to change him, Carlisle then changed Emmett too. Later around 1950 Alice and Jasper joined the covern. They soon decided to put on the facade of a family. Jasper and Rosalie taking on the name of Hale and pretending to be Esme's twin nice and nephew. The others posing as adopted children.
Later they all moved to Forks. Where they had moved to before and made a treaty with the Quileute pack. Meaning if they didnt bite or drink from any human they could live in peace in Forks and not be attacked by the wolfs. Carlisle joined the hospital and worked in the hospital for a few years until Edward decided to leave Bella. He and the other Cullens moved up to Alaska for a little while. Before returning after all the drama in Volterra. Soon after Victoria came back to take Bellas life. The Cullens had to fight her and her newborn army. When the Denalis, there closest friends, abandoned them they had to turn to the wolfs for help.
Jacob got hurt saving leah from a new born vampire. After getting Jacob to phase back, Carlisle managed to help him. Fixing up his injurys so they could heal quickly and go back to normal. Jacob was hostile towards him through the whole treatment and refused to take Carlisles advice till Bella tells him too. Whilst treating Jacob, Carlisle took a blood test from him because he was interested in wolfs and there DNA. Finding out that wolfs have 24 pairs of chromosones, one more than humans and one less than vampires. Soon after Carlisle attends Bella and Edwards wedding. Now he just works in the hospital and helps his family and other humans.
