Bella had been out most of the day, as she had work earlier on in the day and then promised to stop by Charlie’s to make dinner and catch up with him. She had made a promise to herself to do this at least once a week, as she felt rather guilty about what was going to happen to their relationship once she was changed. Of course she would miss her parents, as she would not be able to see them for at least 10 years. She knew she was very unlikely to be in control of her actions, as that what was what everyone had been warning her about and preparing her for. She wasn’t sure she could live with herself if she were to ever hurt someone, especially the people she was close to, like her parents.
She had left Edward with the assumption that he’d finally go hunting today, as he had been putting it off for quite some time. She was less than happy when he did this, she knew it was easier for him to be around humans after he hunted, so she never understood as to why he would put it off for as long as he had. Though he rarely spent time around humans to begin with, just her. Bella knew how tempting her blood was to him though, but she was never worried about being around him. She only worried that her blood caused him pain, though he had told her a while back that he had gotten over the whole scent of her blood. Which, to be quite honest, still surprised her. He was still cautious around her though, which bothered her quite a bit. Still, she knew things would be better once she was turned.
After dinner at Charlie’s was finished, Bella had hung around a few more minutes before she gave her dad a slightly awkward hug goodbye. She was glad that the sun was setting a bit later than it had been, but it was still basically dark when she finally made it home. Stepping out of the car she realized it was starting to rain and was quick to move up the steps. She noticed the lights seemed to be off in the house, which hopefully meant that Edward had gone hunting. Opening the door she turned and closed the door behind her, “Edward?” She asked before turning around to see if he was home or not.

Today was one of those rather rare days in which Edward was left to himself at the cottage. Bella was working and then heading over to her father’s for supper and quality, not something he minded, in fact he liked seeing that she was still keeping in good touch with Charlie. He still wasn’t on her father’s best side, though there was a plus side to that, he didn’t get invited to many meals so he didn’t have to awkwardly sit there and ingest the horrid food nor did he have to make up some sort of excuse as to why he could never make it. And well, one could only come up with so many excuses when living in such a small town. Days like these, where he was left to his own devices he’d thought about seeking employment, though he wasn’t exactly part-time student job material and customer services wouldn’t be any better.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Today would have been the perfect time to go for a hunt, he wouldn’t have to worry about what Bella was doing while he was out hunting. That was a bit of an issue though; hunting could easily slip his mind when he was around his family so having it at the back of his mind while he was alone wasn’t an issue. It had been easy for Edward to move throughout the house for a couple of hours before settling on the couch with a novel, light music playing in the background. He hadn’t exactly been planning on foregoing hunting for the entire day, his mind just slipped into the plot line of the book. Though, of course it wasn’t as if he hadn’t read the book before, or many like it. Just by looking at the cover of the book one would be able to tell not just how many times it has been read but also how well it was looked after.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Not needing much or really any light to read, Edward hadn’t really noticed the hours passing by as he moved closer towards the end of the book. The music stopping was the only thing he really noticed since it left him in complete silence, not something he was use to and when you weren’t use to it silence could be a bit uncomfortable. Hearing the tires upon the dirt road Edward knew who it was, no one else that came out here brought their car. He couldn’t help the smile that appeared on his lips as the sound Drew louder though it did remind him slightly of the fact that he hadn’t gone hunting. There was a faint amount of hope that she wouldn’t notice that then again it probably wasn’t an easy thing to miss. Putting the book down and removing himself from the couch when he heard her cautiously say his name, he flicked on a light, “In the living room Bella.” he said taking a couple of steps forward. tagg; bella status; finished! words; 492 outfit; righ hurr lyrics; love will keep us alive - eagles credit; grapics and template @ kae

Bella was well aware of how much Charlie seemed to dislike Edward, and while she wished the two of them were closer she was glad that Charlie seemed happy enough for her to marry Edward. She knew that Charlie didn't like any guy with his only daughter, unless it was Jacob but they both knew that was never going to happen and it never did. It took her a long time to realize that she actually loved Jacob too, and of course it hurt to know that she could never be with him. Why? Because she knew she couldn't live without Edward. Not again. While she loved spending time with Charlie, things could get awkward as they both weren't that much of talkative people. It was much easier for her to talk to Renee, or listen more than talk as her mother could talk for hours on end. She beat that even if she were to fall asleep on the phone with her, she'd keep talking. She loved her mom though, she was her best friend. Or well, one of them. Alice and Angela were also close friends of hers, which reminded her that she needed to talk to Angela soon, as it had been sometime since they last spoke to each other, or saw each other in person.
Honestly, Bella was expecting for him to hunt today, as he was in a real need of some blood. When she had left this morning the bruises under his black irises were worse than yesterday. So she could only hope that he hadn't put it off any longer, it really bothered her when he did that just because he didn't want to leave her. Of course she hated when the two of them were separated, but this was an important thing that he shouldn't be putting off as long as he had been. It was pretty much ridiculous. When she finally got to the door she hadn't expected Edward to be home, as the lights were off, and was rather surprised when the lights suddenly came on. Gasping in slight surprise she was clutching her messenger bag tightly before her grip on it loosened a bit when she saw it was just Edward. It took a moment for her eyes to really adjust as he made his way over to her, and her smile turned into a frown when she saw that his eyes were in the same state she had remembered from this morning. "You didn't go hunting." Bella muttered in a disapproving tone. "Why didn't you go hunting?" She asked, her tone slightly annoyed. She was hoping to come home to a healthier looking husband, but he was being stubborn as was usual with him. She was basically out the entire today, so couldn't understand why Edward hadn't just gone hunting during the time she was gone. Sighing, Bella put her bag down on the table near the door and moved closer to him before wrapping her arms around him. As much as she was annoyed and disappointed he had yet to go hunting, she would be lying to herself if she pretended she hadn't missed him.

Edward understood more then anyone why he and Charlie weren’t exactly the closest in-laws, perhaps he knew the reason better then Charlie. His mind reading gave him that sort of insight. He believed Charlie had good reason for not caring for him too much, and having a bit of lacking trust as well. Edward hadn’t quite forgiven himself for the pain he’d caused Bella over those few months despite the fact that Bella had. Though he knew that wasn’t the only reason why him and Charlie didn’t quite see eye to eye, her father would have preferred that she end up with Jacob. And well, that hadn’t quite happened but it Jacob surely complicated things though Edward hoped for the most part that little bump in the road was slowly disappearing. Not that he had an immense hatred for Jacob, he didn’t the guy was well one a shape-shifter and two he was highly irritating. But when it came to her friendship with Jacob, Edward was trying to be impartial with the whole idea but the wolf didn’t exactly make for an easy person to get along with. That wasn’t saying that he was easy to get along with, he knew he could be quite difficult to live with at times but he tried.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Knowing that when Bella actually did come inside the house and saw him she wouldn’t be pleased at all, no she’d probably be far from it. He should have hunted he knew that, though things happen and forgetting things is normal, then again that wasn’t much of an excuse when your mind was made up the way a vampires was. Edward was quick, quickest in the family but he wouldn’t be able to (nor did he have the intentions to) go out and search almost frantically for a deer. That could be a couple hours task so he’d be able to do it later on. Besides, he’d put it off this long what would a few more hours hurt? Usually he didn’t allow it to get this bad. When she came inside and jumped slightly when he turned on the lights, he could sense that she for a moment was worried; Edward couldn’t help the small laugh that pushed past his lips. “Sorry.” Edward told her despite the faint grin that was resting on his lips. It didn’t take long for him to notice the expression change on her face. Sighing, Edward’s dark eyes fell onto the floor before he looked upward at her again, “I know…” he commented to her comment about his lack of hunting.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - When she asked him why he hadn’t gone hunting, instinctively he thought about coming up with some sort of reasoning. But he knew better then that, and it wouldn’t get him anywhere nor would it solve the problem or rather issue. “I did have intentions of going hunting today.” he told her. Edward never would have thought that he’d be discussing his ‘eating’ habits with a human so calmly though Bella had never had a problem with it. “I guess it slipped from my thoughts.” He added looking across the space between them. When she moved towards him, the corner of his lips twitched upward in a smile which only grew as she wrapped her arms around him, doing the same to her. Ignoring the fact that her scent hit him hard he pulled her close to him, resting his head against hers. He never realized how much he missed her when they were apart before they were together again. tagg; bella status; finished! words; 591 outfit; righ hurr lyrics; love will keep us alive - eagles credit; grapics and template @ kae

Bella knew that Edward would always have some guilt about leaving her, but she wished he'd just move on from it like she had. She knew he had her best intentions in heart when he chose to leave, though he made her believe that he no longer loved her. Of course that hurt her, because she believed that he might have, and to know that he didn't, or believe he didn't was hurtful to say the least. She knew that Charlie had been hoping that she'd end up with Jacob, and as much as she loved him, she knew she had to be with Edward. She wondered if that ever bothered Charlie still, as he seemed to be okay with her marrying him. She knew Edward was not all that fond of Jacob, but she knew there really wasn't anything she could do anymore in attempt to get them to get along with one another.
It was true that Bella would not at all be happy to see Edward there when she got home, because it did take him a few hours at the least to go hunting and be satisfied. Of course Bella was still a bit surprised to see him home, and for the briefest of seconds she thought he had gone hunting and was back already. To be quite honest she would've been okay with that because it meant they didn't have to be apart. However, when she saw that his eyes were in the same condition s when she had left him this morning, a scowl came to her features. She was not happy that he just hadn't gone hunting, because now she had to be away from him even longer. Still, she'd put up with it if it meant that he would become healthier again. Or as healthy as someone dead could get.
When she heard him laugh at how surprised she had been, a slight frown came across her lips. She wasn't happy that she had to be apart from him. Staring at him when he looked to the grown in what seemed to be shame she watched as he lifted his gaze off the floor and looked up at her again. When he told her that he had intentions of going hunting today, but that it had slipped from his thoughts she couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at him. "I thought vampires never forget anything." She muttered, unable to stay truly mad at him for long, especially when he embraced her back. Pressing her face against his chest she closed her eyes and sighed. "I'll stay at Charlie's tonight, give Alice a break from having to watch me." She told him, pulling away to gauge his reaction. She hoped he wouldn't put up a fight with this, but she also knew how he could be at times, so she braced herself.
