He looked up into the mirror and noticed his dark eyes, he let out a sigh as he slowed the car down. Pulling up to the curb he cut the engine and climbed out, popping the back seat "Come on boys" he said and the two German shepherds jumped out and sat beside him. He removed his jacket and slung it across the passenger seat of the car. "Zeus, stay, you gotta guard the car for me buddy" he rubbed his hands over the dogs head. The darker German shepherd dog jumped up into the front seat "We'll bring you something back" with that he locked the car and set off into the forest the other dog at his side. He began walking through the forest slowly, the dog had his nose to the ground searching for a scent, he let out a low growl and suddenly started running. A grin spread across the man's face as he watched the dog speed off, Nate began to follow the dog, silent as he run. He kept up easily with the canine as they chased down the scent, a heard of elk came into view and Nate smiled to himself. He crouched down and moved slowly towards the heard, the dog was also on his belly crawling beside hi master. Nate sprang suddenly and took down a large buck, breaking it's neck as he brought it to the ground, sinking his teeth into his large jugular vein. The warm liquid ran down his throat and Nate felt his thirst finally being quenched. The canine hadn't moved since Nate had sprung, both dogs knew not to move until Nate had finished feeding. Slowly straightening himself up he whipped his mouth with the back of his hand and dusted himself off, there wasn't much dirt on him, He nodded his head and gestured with his hand "Go ahead Hercules" he said and the dog moved towards the lifeless elk body and began ripping chunks of flesh off of the carcass. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • »tag« Open !»word count« enough »outfit« Outfit»note«»lyrics« I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead - Bon Jovi »credit« Me! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Edward was out going through the forest, at least the part that wouldn’t have him run into any of the wolves, he didn’t need a scene to break out so he just avoided they’re self claimed territory. Bella was out for the day, he believed his sister had some how convinced his poor wife to go out shopping with her again. Edward basically had the day to himself which brought him to the reason why he was moving through the woods. He didn’t exactly need to hunt though if the opportunity arose while he was out he wouldn’t’ turn it down. Eventually he’d make it to his family’s house, surely he’d find something there to keep himself from getting too bored, someone was always home. But until he felt need to head to the large white house, he figured a nice run through the forest wouldn’t hurt.
Despite the fact that he hadn’t planned on hunting, after getting some distance from the cottage he spotted a lone elk which looked as though it had been separated from the pack it was travelling in. The vampire felt very little if any sympathy for the lost elk as he dropped into a crouch watching it carefully, there wasn’t any worry of it getting away, the elk wasn’t fast enough. When it’s head lowered to graze some of the grass Edward took off quickly for it, tackling the creature to the ground in a swift motion before sinking his teeth through its hide and draining the elk of its blood. That not having taken long, Edward stood himself up to his full height and straightened out his clothing before wiping the bit of blood that had gotten on his lips off. Glancing down at the once lively creature, he was sure the carcass wouldn’t last long in the woods; some other animal would finish it off.
After his impromptu hunt Edward continued to move throughout the forest, not in any specific direction, just letting his mind wander as he ran something he didn’t get to do too often. Slowing his speed down to a jog then a walk, he first caught the scent of what he figured was that of the pack of elk that his meal had belonged too. But it was the following two scents that brought his guard up, one being of dog (though he knew it was domestic, no thoughts came from it) and then a vampire. It was the first time he’d encountered a vampire that close to a domesticated dog but he didn’t pay it too much mind since after taking a couple more steps forward he was no longer alone with his thoughts. Instead of just turning and going the other way, since he was sure one if not both creatures had sensed him he decided he’d show himself, a less hostile move. Walking further out, he acknowledge the vampire with a head nod, “Sorry” he said, a monotone to his voice, “I didn’t mean to intrude.” he added.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • •Nate tended not to go for great lengths of time without feeding, travelling with two canines, both of which would be considered food by him if he got that thirsty was the main reason he fed as regularly as possible. Then there was the fact that Nate liked to surround himself with humans as much as possible, part of him still desired to be one; something he knew would never happen, but desire it he did. So feeding regularly was something he did so he could be around humans and not have the urge, he was still young by vampire standards; only a 4 years turned so his immense self control was amazing. The sound of another approaching caught Nate's ears, but the other was very light on his feet, Nate was in a defensive position almost instantly. He couldn't smell the other yet, as he was down wind, but the light foot steps were to light, to light to be human at least, he was certain they were vampire. A low warning growl emitted from between Nate's teeth and was echoes by that of Hercules who was standing beside his master in a defensive position also; hackles up, ears pinned and teeth bared. Nate looked at the other carefully as he apologised, there was nothing aggressive about his movements and when Nate finally locked eyes he noticed the golden eyes of the other, the same golden hue as his own. With that Nate stood up slowly and placed a hand on the dogs head "Easy Herc" he soothed and the dog sat beside him. "You are not intruding, am I on your land?" he asked looking at the other carefully, though more relaxed he was still on his guard. "I didn't smell another and I needed to feed." he explained carefully, he couldn't sense aggression which was good, but it had been a long time since he'd been around another vampire and he'd never met another with golden eyes, another who fed from animal blood. "I'm sorry for my rude greeting, it's been a long time since I've been around others of our kind, and the last I came across weren't exactly friendly" he relaxed his stance a little more he could smell other scent mingled in with Edwards and guessed he wasn't a lone vampire, the scent was also mingled with that of a human, interesting. Many thoughts began to run through Nate's head as he tried to assess the vampire before him, tried to work out the other scents. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • »tag« Edward !»word count« enough »outfit« Outfit»note« YAY! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Edward, having been a ‘vegetarian’ vampire for quite some time didn’t have much of an issue with controlling his thirst when around humans. Of course it hadn’t always been that easy, he’d fallen of the band wagon if you will once for a prolonged period of time. Not exactly because he couldn’t handle not feeding off of humans, it was more of a rebellion stage as his adoptive parents liked to put it. It had been three long years though and it had eventually gotten to him. Edward hadn’t slipped up since then though he had tasted human blood after that but it was a life or death circumstance for Bella and he was sort of corned into that, not that there was any regret there. Humans weren’t really much of an issue, he didn’t care to put himself in they’re company when it wasn’t needed so being out of school he wasn’t immersed in large groups. Bella of course was the exception though at first he’d tried to distance himself not that it worked at all. The human mind was a bit annoying as well which didn’t help matters, the vampire mind was much easier to handle, it not being all cluttered and predictable.
Edward knew he was detected much before he sensed or heard the growl from the other vampire, something that was incredible useful of his mind reading, he had the ins and outs way before anyone expected him too. At least as long as the person didn’t know him well. The growl was expected though it got the same predictable reaction out of him. His manner became cautious as he approached though he managed to stifle his own growl not wanting to get into a confrontation with another vampire, at least not when there was nothing established between them. He shook off the defensive mode though easily as he came into view of the vampire not wanting to appear threatening though he kept his analysing gaze on the other. “I suppose it could be considered our land, though our house only sits on a dozen arches. The rest is free to be roamed and used to hunt.” Edward explained lightly though not taking his eyes off the vampire, which he was glad to see had the came colour irises as he did.
Nodding when the other explained his greeting, “Completely fine” Edward said, “You shouldn’t run into any problems with anyone around here, at least vampire wise” he added not sure if he’d run into any of the patrolling wolves but he figured they wouldn’t be too fond of the idea of a vampire roaming that wasn’t part of his family. He didn’t feel much of a threat from the other so Edward moved forward, closer to the Nate not a fan of talking over large distances. He kept the smile of his lips as he watched the vampire’s thought process on trying to figure out Edward’s situation. “I’m Edward, Edward Cullen” he said getting the introductions out of the way.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • •Nate noticeable eased up when he saw Edward non-threatening manner, he hadn't meant to be rude, he'd just wanted to give a warning to the other that he wasn't going to take lightly to a threat and it seemed this vampire wasn't a threat. At least, if he wanted to be he could be, but from what he could see, the other meant no harm. He showed that he too meant no harm, though he never truly relaxed, he just wasn't that trusting to be able to relax fully around someone he didn't know, especially a potential threat, so he kept on his guard. The same colour had indeed intrigued Nathaniel, he'd never meant any other vampires who took on this way of life though he had heard rumours and it was indeed that that had lead him to Forks, Washington. He nodded, glad that he was free to roam and feed here, when he had mentioned that he lived not far from here he wondered if he was part of the coven that he'd heard rumours of. He had noticed that he'd said 'our' and not 'mine' that meant he wasn't alone, and seemed to strength Nate's suspicions that he was one of the Cullen coven or from what he'd heard 'family' as they called themselves. It had been a long time since he'd really heard that word and even longer since he'd felt any sort of belonging or tie to anyone in the form of a family way. Nate was glad that the other forgave him and even happier when he knew it was safe from other vampires, to be honest he hadn't noticed any other scents and it was rare to see nomads such as himself wandering around, especial close to a coven, from what he could smell, as large as this male's had to be. There it was, Cullen, so he was one of coven that had attracted him to this place, a smile spread across his own lips, making him even more handsome "Nathaniel Jerico, though I prefer Nate" he said returning the smile and offering his hand to the other as he moved a little closer. "Funnily enough your, family, are what brought me to Forks, I'd heard of other yellow eyes and was curious to see if it were true" he explained as the other took his hand "I ran into a 'normal' nomadic vampire a few months back and he asked if I belonged to your family." he added as an explanation of how he'd heard of them. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • »tag« Edward !»word count« enough »outfit« Outfit»note« Sorry this took so long, Nate's muse died. »lyrics« I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead - Bon Jovi »credit« Me! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Edward was glad to see that the other vampire loosened up a bit more, even if it was just a bit, he didn’t want to face off with another vampire, that was never something pleasant to deal with. Meeting new vampires, despite how rare it had been in the last little while that he lived in Forks, he tried to keep his demeanour non threatening. It wasn’t like he had to always be on the edge and paranoid since well, if you were going to attack Edward he knew you were going to at the same moment you knew you would be. An aspect of his ability that he was very much thankful for of course he was never truly relaxed but that was just a normal behaviour of his, always had been and he didn’t exactly see himself changing any time soon. Edward knew this lifestyle wasn’t common but wasn’t as rare as what everyone thought it was though he’d never crossed paths with a nomad vegetarian vampire before so this was interesting.
Even if Edward wasn’t a part of a coven, he figured mentioning subtly that you lived with more then just yourself was a smart idea. Made people less challenging towards you if they thought you were being backed by a couple of other vampires. He figured that the other vampire wouldn’t have missed how he spoke about what it was in the area that was his and his family’s. Despite the fact that it was nice to have someone who stumbled upon your land know a bit about you, it wasn’t exactly that great. His family liked to flow below the radar, didn’t want to catch the interest of any more nomadic vampires, at least the ones that would pose as a threat which had been the case twice before, not to mention it would get security tighter on them via the wolves. Not something he wanted.
A bit of curiosity flared up in Edward as he began to wonder why it was that this particular nomad was in this area, aside from the fact that he’d come into the knowledge that his family lived her and practiced the same eating habits he did. When the other smiled Edward was glad to see that he was loosening up in his company a bit more, in return Edward gave a smile of his own. Edward had always felt more comfortable with vampires then humans, though that was attributed to their thought process as well as the temptation that was often there. Taking Nate’s hand and shaking it when it was extended he gave a nod, “A pleasure, Nate” he said which probably dated him more so then anything else he’d done so far, his mannerisms of the 1920’s and early were still very much present in his behaviour. “Yes, we’ve actually be in the area for a while now, it’s a nice place usually pretty quiet.” Edward said dropping his arm to his side once again, “Its nice to actually come into contact with a nomad that shares our eating habits.” he added.
