Leah's bare feet padded softly as she walked, not really heading anywhere in particular; her ipod was on and she was just letting her feet carry her where they wished. Usually she would be sleeping ready for patrols tonight but she'd been off last night after working double shifts the night before. So she'd slept all last night and gotten up and helped her mother with shopping before heading to the beach. She'd spent her morning swimming and was now simply walking. Dressed in a pair of denim hot pants, her bikini and a crop top, her bag was slung over her shoulder with her towel in.
She was just walking, music in her ears and a smile on her face, it had been two days since Jacob and herself had admitted how they felt, they'd yet to tell the pack but it was going to happen soon. Since it had happened Leah hadn't been able to stop smiling, the others had noticed the difference but no-one had dared to question it; they feared her dropping it and going back to being bitchy. Leah felt wood under her feet and she blinked a few times realising she was at the harbour, but it didn't phase her, she just continued walking.
The sea air hit her face and she smiled as she sat down at the end of the harbour, her feet dangling off the edge, her toes just touching the water. There were very few boats in the dock, the weather was good so most men had taken their boats and gone out fishing. Leah took in a deep breath through her nose, breathing in the sea air, she could taste the salt and it made her smile. She breathed out heavily and leaned back on her hands looking up at the sky for a moment before her gaze returned to the sea. It had been a long night, a long morning and Sam just didn’t want to be cooped up in the house anymore. Emily was having one of those days where all she wanted to do was talk about the wedding, and as much as he wanted to marry her, and help with it, he really didn’t need to know every single detail. So he decided to head out for a walk for once just on his own, with no one in his head so he could actually just think and enjoy the peace and quiet.
However it didn’t take him long to run into someone he knew. Figures, the one place he thought he wouldn’t see anyone he knew from the packs and he finds his ex girlfriend Leah Clearwater. He watched her closely though, keeping his distance at first not sure how she was going to react at seeing him. But the more he watched her the more a smile began to take hold of his lips, she was actually smiling, she was.... happy. This was not like her at all, it was so rare as far as he knew that it never happened, so whatever it was that made it happen he was thrilled for her. Seeing that she was in a pleasant mood from the look on her face he ventured over to see what was going on.
“Hey Leah.” He said calmly with a small smile looking over at her as he approached. “What are you doing out here?” he said casually trying to start a descent conversation with her, which tending to be harder to do than not most of the time.

Leah had decided to have some time to herself for once, she used to spend most of her time alone but recently she hadn't had anytime by herself. Most of it had been spent with Jake and sometimes with Arrie, but right now she had felt like having some time to herself. At least in her human form she could allow her thoughts to wander to what-ever she pleased without having to worry about others over hearing. She didn't plan on spending the whole day by herself, she'd already planned to meet Jacob later, it was rare that Leah spent a day without seeing Jacob anymore, and if she couldn't see him there was always some form of contact.
Leah's eyes were closed, her head pointing skywards as the sun beat down, it was farely warm, though Leah didn't feel the cold anyway so it didn't matter. She'd only closed her eyes to stop the sun shinning into them, a soft smile played on her lips, she felt happy today. She hadn't heard the approach of another, or even the hello as it was spoken, her music was up loadly so she could cut the whole world out. What averted her to Sam's presense was him standing over her slightly and blocking out the sun, she open her eyes slowly and popped the headphones out of her ears just as he asked what she was doing out her.
She shfited her position a little so she could look at him "Just felt like some me time, been pretty hectic recently." she shrugged, the smile was still on her lips but she still felt a little awkward, she hadn't really seen Sam since the pack's had split and she certainly hadn't been alone with him since the break-up. She shifted a little more and finally pushed herself to stand up "What about you?" she asked, trying to keep herself calm, she felt like bolting but that would be stupid.

Sam stared at her slightly as he watched her pop out the ear buds so she could hear him, he almost thought that he may have to repeat himself, but then she answered him. He watched her rather closely as she spoke, she did seem happy, at first he thought it was just a play of the light, but she was calm, relaxed. This was a good sign. He honestly didn’t feel too awkward, all that had happened between them was years ago, and he had moved on, and he hoped, from her expression, she had too. But that wasn’t a given, it was just a guess.
“Ah, yeah I know that feeling.” He said through a sigh looking out at their surroundings, life had been pretty hectic for him as well, and it just seemed to be getting more so the more that they talked about the wedding. “Same.” He shrugged not really sure how to start this conversation. It wasn’t that he didn’t know how to talk to her; they had dated, so obviously he had a way with words, but it was just a matter of judging how she would react. “Emily wants to talk wedding, I don’t.” He shrugged again, waiting for a reply.

Leah had actually been happy a lot recently and mostly it was thanks to Jacob, but these past few days Leah hadn't been able to keep the smile from her face. Even seeing Sam wasn't going to drag Leah from her good mood, as much as part of her was still in love with him, would always be in love with him she wasn't going to cling to it anymore. She had to move on, and she was on her way to doing that, she couldn't cut Sam out of her life completely but she could learn to be happy around him and happy for him. Things had fallen into persepective for her now, before she knew that it wasn't Sam's fault but now she had actually come to accepted.
Things were still going to be awkward between them but Leah wanted Emily back in her life, she missed her sister and that meant that she had to come to terms with Sam and Emily. It would take some time but thanks to Jacob she was going to take it one day at a time. "Well she loves you, and Emily and I have been planning our weddings since we could talk, she's only going to get one, it has to be perfect" she said looking up at Sam, she wasn't much shorter than him now, since her transformation but he was still taller than her. Leah shrugged and looked out across the sea, her phone buzzed indicating she'd had a text and she pulled it out. The smile on her lips seemed to widen as she noticed the message was from Jake, simply asking how her day was going. [/size]

“Yeah, well just because she only get’s one doesn’t mean I really need to be there through the whole process, a lot of humans only have one, their husbands aren’t there through the whole thing, most of them fight the whole way through until the alter.” He pointed out, his parents being one couple. They were still together after all of it.
His mom had always wanted the perfect wedding, his father, didn’t really care, much like Sam. But that’s not saying Sam doesn’t care about Emily or the wedding over all, but he doesn’t feel the need to be so obsessed with how it looks. He would be quite happy to have everyone he loved there with them in his home or in the park, watch them walk down a grassy isle and say their vows. Nothing over done and nothing far fetched. Sam was a realist, he liked to say things and present things as they were, in most cases, his pack being the only exclusion to that rule. “I love her just as much, but love doesn’t mean being forced to put up with Bridezilla, that’s what I am worried about. I never saw this side of her before, and it sort of worries me.” He said with a small sigh. He knew that Emily was a beautiful amazing woman, he loved her more than life itself, and he would walk to the ends of the earth for her, he just didn’t want a complicated and over done wedding, and that is exactly what Emily wanted, and he finally decided he would deal with it, but he would have no part of it until he had to say ‘I do.’ That was his agreement with himself, otherwise, if he were to get involved, they would fight about everything. That was the last thing he needed or wanted between them.
“Perfect, right.” He nodded taking in her statement, not really sure what to make of it. “ Who’s that?” he lifted his head seeing her look at the phone. Kill him for being curious.

He was right though, except usually the woman told the man that it was happening that way, Emily actually wanted his opinion. She nodded as he continued, holding her tongue until he'd finished talking about Emily and the wedding before she opened her mouth to speak, for once in her life thinking carefully about what she was going to say.
"You don't have to be there through the whole process, just listen when she talks about it, she wants your opinion, it's not just her wedding, it's yours as well" she said softly, her voice slow it was obvious she was thinking how to phase what she was saying. It was hard for her; she always thought it would be her planning a wedding for her and Sam, she was truly happy for Sam and Emily anyone could see they were perfect for each other, but part of her still hurt, probably always would and at the back of her mind she still wondered what if. "Well if Em needs any help she can always give me a call, gets you off the hook" she offered quietly, a shy smile on her face, she did want to help, she wanted Emily back, she'd missed her sister and she was finally learning to deal, finally getting on with her life.
"It's just Jake" she mumbled, a blush creeping up on her cheeks and she had a feeling he would notice it, just what she need to explain. Then again part of her didn't care, she was happy for once and Sam didn't own her, though part of her still wanted his approval, wanted him to be happy for her. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • »tag« Jake! »word count« enough »outfit« Hurr! »note« ohhh, lookie at the pretty thread template =D »lyrics« She-Wolf - Shakira »credit« Me!
