Leah's alarm buzzed and she picked the clock up and noticed that it was only 9am, she'd only been sleeping for about 4 hours. She threw the alarm against the wall just to make it shut up after it went off for the 3rd time in a row. With that she rolled over and went back to sleep, at least she intended to when her mom came walking in "Leah, it's 10.30, get up, you told me you had to be at the beach for 12" with a grumble Leah stretched herself out and got out of bed. Shuffling towards the bathroom with the intention of having a shower, hoping it would wake her up. Coming out of the bathroom she went into the kitchen to grab some breakfast. Her mom had already cooked a fry up; eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, hash browns, mushrooms and fried bread. The smell had made Leah's mouth water even while she was in the shower and so she began to shovel it in greatfully. "Leah, please, you're not one of the boys" her mother protested to which Leah simply shrugged, now handing the empty plate to Sue before heading into her room to get dressed.
Leah was pacing up and down in her underwear, she'd already tried on 3 different outfits and nothing seemed right; she didn't want to look liked she'd tried to hard but at the same time she didn't want it to look like she hadn't tried at all. Finally she pulled on a pair of 3/4 length denim shorts and a black and white off the shoulder top. Looking at herself in the mirror she smiled and began work on her hair, pulling it into a side ponytail and securing it with a flower clip. She smiled at herself in and put on a little bit of make-up; no more than she usually wore before heading out the door. Checking the clock on her phone she noticed it was now 10 to 12, had she really taken that long? She shock her head and called a good bye to her mom before heading out the front door and towards the beach.
She hadn't gotten much sleep last night; she'd spent most of it thinking about what had happened between herself and Jake during patrols and it was that that was on her mind now as she walked towards the beach to meet him. Bare feet as usual suddenly made contact with sand; Leah had been so caught up in her thoughts that she hadn't realised that she'd even reached the beach. Pulling her phone out she checked the time and noticed she was 5 minutes late; she hated being late, even by 5 minutes, but at least she'd warned Jake that she might be a little late. She noticed him standing not far from the sea and approached quietly "Hey Jake" she said softly as she reached his side.

All night long Jake was thinking, thought when he caught himself thinking about the early part of patrol he quickly shifted his mind to other things, the last thing he needed was the boys along with Leah listening to him debate his own actions that night. After patrol he went back home, but didn’t bother going to bed just yet. He walked across the rather large grassy yard that surrounded his small red house, past the various trees and branches until he got to the garage. He pulled open the door watching it carefully to make sure it didn’t fall apart as he did so. The barn was getting a bit old and broken down, but it sill functioned just fine as a garage so long as he didn’t touch much else. For the rest of the night he polished his Camero while he thought about what happened between him and Leah, and the fact that he basically asked her out to the beach the next day.
He finally went to bed around nine am and woke up at eleven that day. He was supposed to meet Leah at First Beach by about noon. So as soon as his alarm went off he rolled out bed with a rather large groan, his bare feet hitting the floor as he rubbed his eyes. He ran a hand through his short black hair. He wasn’t really tired though, he had been so tired over the last while that tiredness seemed not to affect him like it should affect people. It was almost like an extreme case of jet lag. He was on a totally weird time clock for sleep that he never seemed to eat or sleep at the right times. He was tired when he put his head down on the pillow and when he took a moment to breath. If his mind was working and his body was moving it tended to keep him up and going.
Jake got himself ready, ran a comb and some gel through his hair, washed the dirt and oil off his hands from that morning, and pulled on a t-shirt and jean shorts before heading to the beach. He walked as quickly through the house as possible. Paul was passed out on the couch, Rachel wrapped up in his arms, and Rebecca was pouting in the kitchen with a cup of tea in her hands. Billy was still a sleep and Rebecca heard him as he rushed around.
“I don’t have time to argue with you right now Becca. I’m leaving now. Bye.” He said by passing her angry look as he closed the door behind him seeing her coming from the kitchen towards him.
By the time he got to the beach he had expected that he would be late. However he was still there first, which worked out nicely for him. He was rather impressed with himself for that. As he waited he leaning himself over a rather large rock, looking out over it at the water in front of him. He soon heard his name behind him and turned around to see his Beta heading towards him, a small smile took hold of his lips.
“Hey Leah.” His face brightened up. “ How’s it goin’?”

Leah, like all of the wolves, usually slept like a log, nothing could disturb them once they fell asleep. But last night, or rather this morning, Leah had had an awful sleep; she'd tossed and turned and woken up many times. It was why she'd been reluctant to get up this morning; her sleep had been disturbed by thoughts of Jacob and what had happened between them last night. She'd woken up at around 7 this morning drenched in a cold sweat having only just realised that Jacob had actually asked her out, just as friends? She still wasn't sure on that and she'd sat awake for an hour dwelling on that thoughts alone. Even when she had been asleep her dreams had been filled with thoughts of Jacob; what was she turning into?!
Leah had never been one to obsess over her appearance but today had called for her to stress out at least a little, she'd made herself look casual but at the same time a little dressier than usual. Having left her feet bare as usual, since one of her first phases Leah had stopped wearing shoe altogether, she'd ripped her favourite pair because she'd lost her temper and phased on impulse. Now, unless she absolutely had to Leah didn't wear shoes and seen as she spent mose of her time on the rez it meant most of the time she didn't have to wear shoes. She put her ipod in to walk towards the beach, a soft smile on her lips as she felt sand between her toes. It was then that she'd taken her ipod out and walked to where she could see Jacob waiting for her.
Her eyes seemed to light up and her expression brightened as Jacob turned and smiled at her, she'd noticed his own expression brighten up at her approach. "Going good, I'm not as tired as I thought I would be, but mom does need to go buy me a new alarm clock" she grinned sheepishly at him, the reason to her broken alarm clock being very clear. How 'bout you? Sleep ok?" she questioned as she climbed to sit on the rock that Jacob had been leaning against. Her gaze wandered out to the sea as she listened to his responce.

He watched the Beta closely trying not to give too much of his thoughts away. That was one good thing about being human, his thoughts were all his own, however people tended to get to know each other so well through mind reading that it gets hard to hide anything from each other. For him though, it wasn’t so much that he was trying to hide his feelings, just tame them.
He didn’t really feel it appropriate to just jump at her and plant one on her when he first saw her, both of them after all had gone through a lot, separately and together that they needed to ease into it, it was bad enough that he sort of just realised that he had asked her on a date, now he had to decide whether it really was a date or not.
He laughed lightly when she said Sue had to get a new alarm clock, he knew all too well about that sort of thing. He had probably gone through a dozen in the last two months, maybe more. He thought perhaps Billy had the store on speed dial or something. Just when he figured out the new one, and he breaks it. “Oh yeah, slept fine.” He lied. Jake wasn’t really about to tell her he spent the whole morning after patrol working and thinking about her, that was again something that neither of them needed to talk about just yet.
He watched her jump up and sit on the rock that he had been leaning against and smiled lightly. “Le,” He mused, “ Why do you think I asked you out here?” He wasn’t about to make it something she didn’t want it to be, so might as well be bluntly honest.

Leah was glad that this was taking place in human form, it meant she was free to let her mind wonder of it's own accord without giving to much away. meaning she was able to think freely before speaking. Rather than having the first thing that popped into her head being said, it was one thing she hated about being in wolf form, sure it made co-ordinating easier but it would nice to shut it off every once in awhile, not everyone needed to know everything.
Leah still wasn't sure what this was about, he'd been the one to ask her to meet him, but it hadn't been in a way that suggested it was business, which meant this was purely leisure time. But did that mean it was a date? Or was it simply to friends meeting up to hang out? She wanted to know his veiw, but how could she ask without making herself seem desperate, so for the time being she decided she wasn't going to say anything. Leah let a smile spread across her lips as he laughed, it was one of those sounds that just made her smile, no matter how crappy she was feeling. She hated her alarm clock, it was the bane of her existance, damn thing - whoever invented something to wake you up early had to be insane, at least in Leah's opinion they were.
Her gaze left the sea at his question, a little taken back by his sheer bluntness, slowly she turned her face to look at him, "To be honest Jake, I don't know. I have a feeling it's to do with what happened on patrol last night" she said quietly, her gaze left him once more and she looked out to the sea "I don't want things between us to become awkward, you mean to much to me for me to handle loosing you" her voice was quiet as she spoke. She knew he'd hear her but she was afraid of conveying how she really felt because it meant making herself vulnerable to hurt. She pulled her knee's up to her chest and rested her chin upon them, before slowly turning her face to look at him.

This was a bit strange for him to be honest, he wasn’t really used to dealing with girls this way, most of them were just friends because he couldn’t handle to fall for someone again, however Leah was different now. Once upon a time they hated each other, and he would never have thought of himself ending up with Leah as basically his best friend. Now he was debating whether to make them more, he could tell they both were heading that direction, and he loved the idea of being with her, but he didn’t want any drama from it. Sam for one might not like it, but Jake could deal with him. Secondly it wasn’t exactly the best thing to do dating your Beta. However, he was willing to do anything for her, and she knew it.
“Leah,” He said moving closer to her, reaching out and resting a hand on her knee. “Nothing is going to happen that we don’t want it to. As far as I can see, it’s not awkward yet, and I doubt it will be. I need you around, no matter what happens.” He looked up at her a bit of seriousness on his face as he tried to figure out himself just how this was going to play out. He had desided that night that he really did like Leah more than Bella now, and not just as a friend, he honestly really could see them together the way they never thought was possible.

So much had changed over these past few years that Leah didn't know where she stood some of the time, the worst of those changes had been her own change into becoming a werewolf. It was that had given her father the heart attack, everyone had tried to tell her other wise but she still blamed herself. Losing her father mixed with having Sam in her head was what had turned Leah into a bitch but it was these past few months that had changed her for the better that was thanks to Jacob. Leah could actually stand being around other people, could deal with conversations without bring everyone around her down. Jacob had once been her enemy, is some had suggested a year ago that he'd become her best friend she would have ended up in a fight with them, if they suggested that she'd start falling for him she probably would have killed them. But something along the way had changed them, made them close, because what neither of them could see then was that they were very similar, are very similar. Leah would give her life for Jacob and he knew it, but it wasn't just because he was her Alpha and that was her loyalties lie but because she'd rather die than see him get hurt.
Leah's eyes drifted down to look at Jacob's hand as he rested it on her knee, her eyes travelled up his arm until her eyes locked with his and she let a small smile spread across her lips at his words. "For once in my life, I don't have to try to be happy, when I'm around you it just kind of happens" she said the smile growing a little more. She let feet slip down the rock so her legs were out infront of her once again and she turned her body to face Jacob completely. "Are you sure you can handle me though Jacob Black? I'm not the nicest girl around, at least, so I'm told" a grin spread across her lips now, it was so easy to be the Leah she used to be when she was around him. The thoughts running through her head were what would everyone else think? No-one would have expected anything to happen between Leah and Jake, especially when they themselves couldn't have seen it coming. Leah had a feeling that Sam probably wouldn't like it, then again she didn't belong to him, it was up to her what she did now.

Jake looked up at Leah as she spoke, she was happy. It was something he had never thought possible in the past, her being happy. Let alone him being happy around her. He was of course terrified of the fact that he did love being with her and with both their pasts it was hard to ignore when everyone knew about it all too well.
Sam wasn’t going to be happy, but that was the least of his worries, and honestly, Bella wasn’t much of a friend these days, he still tried but that was all he felt for her anymore. Of course he still loved her, he always would, but she had made her choice and he was willing to be friends if she remained human, which didn’t look like it would happen either. So he was right ready to wash his hands of her and move on, and just watch her and the vampires from the sidelines and do what needed to be done when the time came. It was killing him to admit it to himself, but he didn’t know what else to do.
When she asked him if he was sure he could handle her he just smiled, looking down at the ground for a moment collecting his thoughts before looking back up at her, his hand still firmly on her leg. “Leah Clearwater, if anyone can handle you, it’s me.” He said rather bluntly though still with a smile as he spoke. He moved closer to her, his hand down moving to find her own. “I know we’ve been through a lot, but I think we can handle whatever happens.” Okay so that was bit cheesy, but it was true. He really honestly felt that if they wanted it, they could do it. Nothing ever said they wouldn’t imprint, and it was clear they weren’t going to imprint on each other, but nothing said they couldn’t be happy together while they had that time together. They were so close and he wanted more than anything to move on from Bella for good, and Leah needed to be away from Sam, so what better way to help each other than to go the next step and be together? He leaned in a placed a small quick kiss on her lips without really thinking. It was his way of proving, if they really wanted to try it would and could happen. They had been enemies once, but they managed to put that behind them well enough to become really good friends as they were now. There was always room for more and he was willing to give it a shot if she wanted it.

Leah smiled at Jake, it was true, Leah was actually happy and not pretending like she had done for so long now. Part of her was still scared about how she felt about Jake, she hadn't let anyone get close to her since Sam and with Sam she'd only managed to get hurt. She knew she couldn't keep going as if everything was going to hurt her, she'd never be happy if she lived her life like that and she knew it. Leah had managed to keep her feelings to herself for this long, so it would come as a shock to everyone when they found out.
Leah would always love Sam, you don't just get over your first love, it doesn't work like that, but she needed to move on and find happiness, part of her knew that that happiness could be found in Jacob. Just as she knew that part of Jake would always love Bella, she would never understand why but she could accept it, after all he seemed to accept that part of would always love Sam. It was just one of those things, you couldn't control who you fell in love with or why, all you could do was make the best of it and hope for a good out come. Leah had figured out a long time ago that she couldn't live without Jacob, so what was letting him a little closer? She wasn't going to lose him, that just wasn't an option, if things didn't work out between them as a couple they could/would always be friends.
Leah watched Jacob quietly as he looked at the ground, she was still very aware of his hand on her leg, as he spoke a grin spread across Leah's lips, maybe he was right. He had been the only one to get through to her during her whole 'Keep the world out' thing, he'd been the only one to get close to her, was still the only person who was truly close to her. As his hand found herself her grin turned to a soft smile and she gave his hand a soft squeeze, lacing her fingers with his. "Well we've handle a lot so far, but you're right, I think we'll be able to handle whatever life decides to throw at us next" so what if what he'd said was cheesy it was true and right now that was what mattered, at least in Leah's opinion. The kiss surprised Leah, perhaps more than it should have and she was still for a moment before returning the kiss. Leah had a feeling that things weren't going to run as smoothly as they'd like, but they'd cross that bridge when they came to it and they'd cross it together. Leah possibly the hardest they were going to have to do was be to tell the packs, she let herself slid from the rock, her hands on Jacob's shoulders as she did so.
He hands were still resting on Jacob's shoulders even with her feet firmly on the ground, of course there hadn't been a lot of space between Jake and the rock which meant that Leah was now pressed between the rock and Jacob, not that she was complaining. "So mighty Alpha, how do you plan on telling your pack?" she asked a grin on her lips, of course she didn't really expect him to take all the heat and tell them alone. But this was just Leah, it was how she was, how she liked to be, something that Jacob had helped pull out, the fun-loving tease that was the real Leah Clearwater.

She leaned into him and kissed him back and immediately his smile only got brighter. Somehow this seemed perfect. The one person he never thought would have ended up being perfect was just perfect enough after all. It was cheesy to think about it that way, and it took him along time to see her that way, but he was glad he finally did. Leah meant a lot to him, and there was nothing that was going to stand between them and being happy again. Yes he knew people might not like it, but there was nothing they could do about it.
He watched as she slid off the rock and cemented herself between them, her arms over his shoulders as she did so. Jake was thrilled beyond belief right now, this little meeting turned out to be the best thing he had ever decided to do. “Well, my beautiful Beta...” he said through a smile as he leaned in and kissed her again, “We will tell everyone when we think they deserve to know. Honestly though, you really think they will care? Besides Seth?” He didn’t really see the big deal, but knew that a few of them would probably think he was crazy.

Leah seemed to be moulded perfectly between the rock and Jacob, they seemed to just fit together like 2 pieces of a puzzle and Leah was wondering why it had taken her so long to realise and after that even longer to act on it. A blush crept upon Leah's cheeks as he called her beautiful, it had been a long time since anyone had said anything like that to her, the smile was soft upon her lips as she looked at him, knowing he'd notice the blush but hoping he wouldn't. The kiss however was enough to make her forget about the blush that was now slowly disappearing from her cheeks. "That's where I think you're wrong, I think the guys are going to think you've lost your mind. Seth will be happy, at least, I hope so." she shrugged, something told her that Sam probably wouldn't be all to pleased but she didn't want to be the one to bring him up, then of course there was Bella. Leah and Bella hadn't been on best terms since she'd come to live in Forks with her father, and she had a feeling that this would cause them to come to blows once more.
Leah didn't care what anyone else thought, as long as she was happy and Jacob was happy then that was all that matter in her opinion, but she didn't want to hide it away like some dirty little secret, she wanted the others to know. Part of it was her pride wanting to shine through and show that she had moved on and was happy, that boys did find her attractive. More than that though was the fact that she wanted to be able to express how she felt rather than having to hide it away and having to be careful about what she did and said. She was glad this had happened, very much so but part of her was still scared about how it was going to pan out, she didn't want the opinion's of others to drive them apart.

He watched the girl closely as she spoke, not wanting to get her mad, but not wanting to avoid the facts either. It was true what she said, the guys probably would think that he went mental in deciding to date his own Beta. But he fact was, they were best friends, and had been for some time now, basically when Bella abandoned him for the bloodsucker Leah stepped in and started playing nice.
It was a relief for him to have her and he didn't give a shit what anyone thought now that he had finally made his desision. Leah and Jake were going to be happy, whether they liked it or not. "I honestly don't give a fuck what they think. You should know that Le." He said through a grumble of disgust already hearing the comments in his mind, knowing full well what they were going to say. "Seth will be fine with it, I'm sure. Remember, he still warships me for some idiotic reason." He said shaking his head at the thought.
For some reason Jacob had yet to sort out in his mind Seth Clearwater, Leah's little brother had always had this idolization towards Jacob, minus when everyone thought he had gone bad. But Seth's hatred didn't last long before it was back to idolising him as a werewolf and then folllowing him off to start what now is the Boundary Pack. Jacob could have killed Seth for that idea back then, but it might have just been the one thing that saved everyone's sanity.
"We will deal with it as it comes Leah." He said running a hand down her arm, his eyes never leaving her face for a moment. His mind just straying to the thoughts now of the two of them and how they had gotten to this moment from where they had been all their lives. The two of them constantly battling one another for the attention of Sue Clearwater, or disputes between groups of friends, the fact that Sam was to old for her, and then there was the time when he turned into a wolf before her and hung out with Sam all the time. They royally pissed each other off, and in due time, their past really had brought them together in such a way that Jake would never forget, or hate ever again. If he didn't know any better, Jacob almost was ready to admit if only to himself for a single moment, that he loved her.

Leah had been known for her anger in the past, it was just one of the things that empowered her, she'd become and angry bitter person, but around Jake Leah very rarely lost of her temper. Leah didn't think they guys would think him insane for dating his beta, know she thought they'd think he'd gone mad because he was dating Leah, they still found it hard to believe that the two had become best friends, let alone dating, they would think it a joke. Originally Leah had used Jacob as her escape from Sam, a way to get him out of her head and finally get over him, but once she stopped acting like a bitch and actually had some space from Sam she found she actually got on with Jacob, that they had a lot in common.
Then again, it had nothing to do with them, it was Jacob and Leah's decision to date and aslong as they were happy what did it matter what anyone else thought? At least, that was the way that Leah was going to look at it, and the only thing that was going to make her think otherwise was if someone tried to get between them. But then again the only reaction they were going to get was Leah jumping down their throat and telling them to keep out. "And you know me, I give as good as I get. So we all know that if they start I'm going to give them a run for their money" she replied smiling, it was true, most of the guys had learnt long ago what Leah could do when pissed off. Leah nodded at Jacob's next statement, it was true Seth did seem to hero worship "Yeah, I can't figure it out either" she replied with a laugh, grinning at him in a joking mannor.
Seth had been the first to follow Jacob giving Leah an excuse to follow and get Sam out of her head. She knew that Jacob had hated the idea of making a pack of his own but with both Seth and Leah behind him he didn't really have a choice. Thinking about it now Seth following Jacon was the best thing he'd ever done, because it meant Leah could do the same which had ultimately lead to what they had now; their friendship and now their becoming a couple. Seth had simply been the catalyst and in the back of Leah's mind she was trying to think of a way to thank Seth somehow.
Leah smiled back at Jacob as he run his hand down her arm "Together" she replied softly her smile growing a little more. Leah still wasn't sure what had happened between herself and Jacob and nor did she care to question it. All she knew was that Jacob meant a lot to her, she'd realised a long time ago that she couldn't live without him. Everyday she had to have some form of contact with him even if it was only a text message off of him. Part of her already knew that she was falling in love with him, but she to scared to admit to herself, so she sure wasn't ready to admit it to anyone else.

He smiled when Leah said she was going to jump down the guys throats if anyone started giving either of them hell about dating one another. It was always stuff like that these days that made him laugh. He knew she was dead serious, but just the fact that she wasn’t doing it to him anymore gave him a sense of relief. “Your brother is weird, lets just say that much. But I’m sure he will be cool with it.” He said as a small smirk took hold of his lips his body pulling as close as possible to her as humanly possible. He had sort of missed this close interaction with someone that now that he knew the feeling was definitely mutual it seemed sort of nice. Sort of gave him that feeling that he didn’t want it to stop, or go away. Call him crazy, but he was really enjoying himself spending time with Leah Clearwater of all the wolves he could be with right now. And to finally admit that they wanted to be together together was enough to keep a smile on his face for weeks, if not months. He chuckled lightly as she said they would do it all together. “Yeah, together.” He nodded before leaning in to kiss her once more.

Leah's temper was well known among La Push even before the incident with Sam or her becoming a wolf her temper was something to be frighten off. It was just those incidents that had made her more prone to losing her temper, though recently she had calmed down and gone back to the Leah who rarely lost her temper, but it was still a scary thing. So rather than question it the pack just accepted it and tried not to set her off.
"Yeah, Seth is weird but I guess we should be thankful for it" she paused for a moment and noticed his confused look "If he didn't hero worship you like he does then he wouldn't have followed you when you split from the pack, which means it wouldn't have given me an excuse to follow meaning this, it wouldn't have happened" she said softly smiling at him. Her hands curled around his neck a little more and she began to play with the hair at the base of his neck "Remind me to thank Seth" she said with a grin, thinking about it she was sure that Seth was likely to take the news well, but in all honest she didn't care what the others thought. The only person who she cared about taking it badly was her mother but she was certain that wasn't going to happen. Jacob leaned in to kiss her once more and she found herself smiling into the kiss before deepening it a little, still playing with the hair at the base of his neck.
