It had been a while since Jacob's pack and Sam's pack did anything other than eat and work together. Sam, in the spirit of trying to be happy with the amazing life he had, and the lack of Vampiric activity, wanted to throw a bit of a celebration for all the packs and their wolf knowing families.
He had sent a mass text to all the wolves cellphones stating that he was hosting a Barbeque for the packs in the Common Grounds. All wolves were asked to come with imprints if they had them, those with other boyfriends or girlfriends that knew of the wolves were also permitted. Clothes required, anger management in place, that last note was mainly for Paul.
He had spent the day preparing with the help of his amazing fiancee for the feast. So, there he sat, in his lawn chair, cold beer in hand and BBQ set up not far from him as he sat under the shade of a nice tree. It wasn't raining today, so he figured, why not? It could be worse weather, and the wolves were always warm!
The alpha waited to see who would arrive first.

ily stood there in the kitchen as she began to finish up cooking for the pack and there girlfriends. Today couldn't have been a better day then yesterday. She and Sam were on better terms now, they weren't arguing as much, and she was actually happy again. Emily and Sam had the most amazing sex ever since there last time they faught, it was kind of funny that make up sex was the best kind. She laughed shaking her head, and looked up over at Sam smiling at him. Leah was actually happy for her for once. Wasn’t she? She should be, Emily thought to herself. So many things running through her mind lately, she wondered if maybe she could be pregnant? Could she? God! Her mother would be happy for her too, as well as her father but she hadn’t spoken to Sam’s parents in a few months really. Although, everyone was so close people were just busy at this time of year. She couldn’t wait for Christmas time. All the snow, the laughter and joy, the tinsel and presents, she missed this time of year. Emily and her family before Sam used to spend every Christmas time bonding and trying to be a family. Em grabbed dipped her finger in the chocolate sauce and licked it, as she said; “Mmm perfect!” she announced and loved her chocolate pie she made just for Sam. She loved baking, yet cooking was her specialty, but baking was another thing for her. Emily began to hum in the kitchen as she finished preparing the rest of the dishes, a few things were in the oven, and some were on the stove warming up. Em made brownies, chocolate chip cookies, salad, chicken pasta, and Sam was outside barbequing. Today was going to be perfect. She called out by the door, “SAM! Can you come in here for a minute?” she asked in a cute little tone hopefully he’d be able to come in and help her for just one minute. Anna was always up for a good barbecue, there was no question about that. However, she didn't like the idea of helping out so much.Though she knew Emily wasn't going to do everything herself, so the night before Anna had gone the local store to get more stuff for today's festivities. She had laughed pretty hard at some of Sam's text, like the part of the clothing being required and to have your anger managed during the duration of the party. She was sure the latter bit was about Paul, he still had this attitude about him, and honestly she couldn't understand how Rachel could stand it. Though it seemed he was a big mush when it came to her, so maybe that's why. Honestly, the whole idea of imprinting on someone freaked her out, she'd much rather have a choice of who she loved rather than just being stuck with said person. Though when she saw in Sam's mind or anyone else who had imprinted, it didn't seem like they felt that way about their partner. They seemed to love them unconditionally.
Catching up on some sleep, Anna attempted to wake up earlier than she usually did so she didn't have to fight for some food at today's party. The bad part of having so many wolves in one place was that everyone was always so hungry. Deciding to take a shower, as she hadn't the night before since she was patrolling, she headed upstairs from the basement of Sam and Emily's house to smell a bunch of different of foods. Trying to be subtle, Anna was quick to snatch an apple before moving towards the bathroom, eating the apple quickly as she went. It was enough to satisfy her for a little bit. One good thing about being a wolf was that she burned carbs so fast she never had to worry about her figure. Though even before she transformed she had been rather thin. After taking a shower and getting dressed, Anna offered to bring some stuff with her to the common grounds and headed out there in her small car. Seeing the common grounds set up for today's barbecue she caught site of Sam lounging with a cold beer in his hand, which only caused her to chuckle. Getting out of the car she grabbed the food as she went and headed over to where one of the tables was set up. "I see the all-mighty alpha is ready for this party to start." Anna said in a teasing tone, a huge grin plastered on her features. As she moved past him she attempted to ruffle up his hair, if not only to bug him a little.

Jake got this random text message from Sam a few days prior saying there was a Manditory BBQ, his presence along with both packs was required. He did get a kick out of the details, and so he thought about dressing in a suit or something stupid like that to fit the requirement of clothes required... but decided that would be too hot, even for a joke. So he showed up to the common grounds in a nice button up t-shirt and jean shorts and flip flops. Yes the weather was cold out, but he looked ready for summer. After all, it was a BBQ, and they were accustom to hot temperatures so why not really?
"Hey now, leave the poor guy alone." he teased looking over at Anna as he appeared from around the corner of a couple of bushes, he had just shown up, but snuck over and grabbed a beer from where Sam had stowed them, dropping off a few bucks in place of it, knowing Sam would be pissed if he drank it for free. Sam seemed to be rather protective of his booze, not that he blamed him, but still. Do not anger the Alpha, Jake knew that still, even if it wasn't his Alpha anymore.
He glanced around wondering where Emily was, was she still back at the house? He shook his head, glancing around he could tell it was just the three of them on the common grounds. He pulled out his cell and texted Leah to see where she was... the girl was running late- again.

*I'll watch the night turn light-blue But it's not the same without you~ Pour me a heavy dose of A T M O S P H E R E* Sarah had gotten the text a few days before today. Enough time to calm down before she came. She was a little short tempered, like Paul, but she wasn't as bad. She walked through the trees, now, wearing a pair of jeans and a blue halter top. Sure it was cold outside, but the wolves had their ridiculous body heat to keep them warm. It also wasn't raining. All in all, it was actually a pretty nice day. She walked on, watching the sky and then looking back in front of her to make sure she wouldn't run into anything.
She finally pushed her way through some bushes and into the common grounds. Jacob, Sam, Emily, and Anna were already there. Sarah was the fifth to arrive. She smiled slightly at the ones already there, and then looked around. She saw a place where she knew beer would be, but she knew that wouldn't be a good idea. She was only fifteen, and she didn't really want to drink at all in her life, so she didn't need to start now. She looked around once more. Now that she thought about it, she was actually quite bored. She would like to watch a good fight at this point... maybe even be in one. Even if it was a real fight, she would still enjoy it. She always enjoyed that kind of stuff.
She looked down at her feet, not sure what to do. She was the youngest in the pack, and didn't really... fit in. As much as she didn't want to admit it, she was younger than all of the wolves, not as strong, and didn't have that much experience. She sighed and looked up again, examining the people there.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • •Leah wasn't actually running late, at least not by mistake, she'd left it to make sure that she wasn't the first to arrive, yes things between her and Sam and Emily were better but part of her still felt awkward about being around them, at least on her, just for the moment; things were certainly getting better and that was at least something. Her phone buzzed and she pulled it from her pocket and rolled her eyes at the text. She wasn't even that late and she knew that not even half the wolves would be there yet, thought part of her was glad to know that Jake was at least going to be there when she got there.
Pushing her way through the bushes she came into view "I'm right here" she said simply as she pushed her way out into the common ground a bowl of potato salad in her hands and a bag filled with bottles of beer and alcopops. "And I'm not late, there's still hardly anyone here" she commented to Jake as she placed the bowl on the table and moved to put the bottles along side Sam's beers. Grabbing one of her beers she popped the top off using her teeth; something she knew she shouldn't do but did it anyway. She flitted to Jake's side and laced her fingers with his, it was just a natural reaction of hers now, anything to have some form of contact with him. "This do for 'clothes required?" she asked quoting from the text she'd received a few days ago "Shoe's and everything" she added holding out her leg to indicate the white dolly shoes she was wearing. Leah very rarely wore shoes so wearing them now was indeed a big deal for her. She knew she was dressed for a hot summers day, but she was a wolf, she didn't feel the cold so what she was wearing felt good to her.• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • »tag« The Wolf Packs !»word count« enough »outfit« Hurr!»note« »lyrics« She-Wolf - Shakira »credit« Me! Anna was dressed much differently from Jacob, except instead of a t-shirt she had a tank top on and her jean shorts were a lot more fitting and shorter. As for her flip flops, they were quite a bit more girlie looking than Jake's. Hearing Jacob speak up, telling her to leave Sam alone she turned around and rolled her eyes in a joking manner. "I don't have to listen to you, you're not my alpha." She told him before grinning. Watching Jacob as he took a beer from the cooler she raised an eyebrow, "Are you old enough to be drinking Jake?" She asked with a little smirk. Not that she had been any better at his age, she had her first taste of alcohol at 19. Beer still wasn't her favorite beverage, it had to be a certain brand for her to actually like it. So when she saw which one Jake had taken she made a face, Bud Light? No thanks. Leaning against the side of Sam's chair she watched Jake as she zoned out briefly.
Hearing someone else arrive she turned her head to see Sarah making her way over to where the drinks were. "Hey." She said, acknowledging the girl and giving her a small nod before looking over at where the snacks were. Pushing off the side of Sam's chair she headed over to grab a handful of chips just as she saw Leah. She never was really fond of Leah, as their personalities tended to clash. Still, she gave her a small nod before turning her gaze away when Leah laced her fingers with Jake. Call it jealousy, whatever, Anna just didn't really care for being single. At the same time though, she didn't want to have to keep a huge secret from some guy and risk hurting him like Sam had. Scowling a little she shoved a few chips in her mouth and leaned heavily against the table, being careful not to put too much pressure on it. After finishing the handful of chips she decided to check out what else Sam had brought to drink. There were some water bottles there and she decided to take one of those for now. "You want one?" She asked Sarah, holding one out to her.

Cassandra had gotten up late one morning and found a text from Sam on her phone. She grumbled as she read it and laughed at the last section about temper and she knew that was meant for Paul. She got up and went to work with her sister,The day was a little bit busy as it was Prom time for near by schools. As much as she liked work, she had to leave a little early with the excuse that she had a friends barbecue to go to,but that was all she said. She knew she couldn't tell Mia about the wolves, which meant Cassie had to hide one side of her to Mia for her protection and other reasons Cassandra walked down to the beach where the BBQ was being held. She saw some of the other wolves. She got along with most but there was one or two she didn't know. She wore a pair of jeans and a Black tank top.She wore a pair of Black heels as she only wore high heels on special events but a BBQ on the common grounds was no event for Heels, but she wore them anyways. As Cassie walked down to the common grounds she saw Jacob,Leah and another 2 girls,Anna who is in Sam's pack with her and Sarah who she only met a couple of times. She walked up to them with a bag of chips and dip "Hello Jacob,Leah" she said softly as she set the chips, dip and Kabana up in a plastic dish on the table. Her hair was left out and was slightly curly. She had a soft smile and began to wonder what would happen once cranky Paul turned up.

Paul had just woken up from his nap. It had been a long night, and an even longer day, a nap was nessisary. When he woke up he looked at the clock realising he was nearly late for the BBQ that Sam had arranged for the packs. He skimmed over the text message one more time, all clothing was worn and he rolled his eyes yet agian, for probably the fifteenth time at the part about the anger management. 'Just great Sam, now everyone knows...' he muttered to himself. Not like they didn't all know before. He was one of the harder wolves to keep calm, if not the hardest. The only ones who could really do that were Jared, occasionally Sam and Rachel. Rachel Black, despite being Jacob Black's sister, was the one reason he was truely happy these days. She could calm him down in a heart beat, and he loved her with everything he had, not that he was going to admit that on patrol any time soon though.
As he walked through the grassy fields he noticed the common grounds dead ahead. He could hear the faint sound of music playing and the contant chatter of voices. He took a deep breath and headed towards everyone. He ran a hand through his hair and down his t-shirt giving himself one good look over making sure he was all okay. T-shirt, check, Shorts, Check, spare stashed out back in a tree, check, shoes, check. He was good.
He trudged past everyone and straight to the beer in Jacob's hand. "Thank you." he said with a small smirk as he headed towards Sam, nodding at Anna with a small grin as he took a few sips of the cold liquid before finding a spare chair and plopped himself down beside Sam. "How's it going guys?" he said trying to be nice, despite the fact that everyone else seemed to get along, he honestly was rather annoyed with most of the pack that he tended to try to avoid all of them except Sam and Jared, his best friends, and then the original Quileute pack members that went to Jacob's Pack. That's not saying he hated the new people, guys and girls all the same, they were just, well new. Paul wasn't great with change, and it would take him a good while still to get used to them all. It was so many all at once and it was hard for Paul to deal with. He liked it when there was just six. Now there was enough to have two packs and a BBQ!
"So, now that the excitement has arrived.... what are we waiting for?" He looked around at the rather quiet group of people. "Great. Juuuust great, a lot of party poopers we have hear. What happened to the days when we actually had fun?!" he said with a bit of a scowl downing the rest of Jake's beer before looking at him and asking him for another. "Be a pal will ya bud?" It was the least Jacob could do, after all, he had to be the one who was related to Paul's girlfriend, and he wasn't too fond of sharing food, the least he could do was share a beer and get him another, they were going to be related after all one day, good practice.

Sam glanced around as people started to show up. He really wanted to know what was taking Emily so long to get there from the house. He had asked her to show up twenty minutes ago so he could help her set up. But still no Emily. He pulled out his phone and texted her to see what was taking her so long. ((Hopefully this gives her a chance to fix her post for the next time around.))
The first to show up was a toss up, he couldn't tell if Jake or Anna was there first, they both sort of appeared out of no where. Stealth, he liked it, the beer in Jacob's hand however, not so much. "Jacob...." he warned, "That better not be one of mine..." He wasn't an obsessive guy with his beer or alcohol in general, but he liked people to respect what was his, if he brought it, and offered you one, no charge and go for it. If he didn't you had better be willing to pay for it. That was just how he was, he was a rules sort of boy, he was an Alpha after all, and with the group he had, he had to have rules that were followed, on patrol or not. He looked over at Anna as she spoke to him nodding his head as a smile took hold of his lips. "Hell yes, I am the party!" he exclaimed, okay, well maybe not, but he liked to think that once and a while he could be more than just the tough Alpha that gave orders.
When Anna greeted Sarah he looked over and gave her a small wave. He honestly thought she was a cute kid. Despite how young she was, he enjoyed having her in the pack, just wished that she could have avoided this mess altogether, he hated that all the kids had to endure this alongside him. But he wouldn't ask for a better set of mutts than his pack and Jacob's pack, they were his family now and he would go to the ends of the earth to protect them all.
"Hey Leah." he greeted her as she asked for his approval on the clothing and shoes. "Very nice, definately you." he said rolling his eyes slightly at her. They were getting along not to bad now that she was in a different pack, but seeing her link her fingers with Jake's he let out as small cough and looked the other way. That was still not easy to get used to. He was working on it, he was glad she was happy, but just knowing how they were before to how they are now... well it was a bit laughable honestly. But Bella was rarely brought up anymore and Leah smiled, so all seemed well.
"Anna, he may not be your Alpha, but YOU'RE Alpha still expects you to respect the other Alpha as if he were your own. Got it?" he said lightly but still with that air of sterness about how he spoke. He always felt like he had to refereree people, it sucked, but twas the life of the Head Alpha he supposed.
That was when Cassie showed up, he glanced over at her from his chair as she greeted Jacob and Leah but that was about it. "What no big Hi Hello for me? I'm the one who invited you remember!" He teased lightly shooting her a crooked smile before taking another sip of his own beer. Suddenly out of the woodwork Paul showed up, snagged the beer from Jacob, chugged it back and flopped down beside Sam and demanded that the party officially start now that he had arrived. "Way to make an entrance man." he said looking between Paul and Jake incase the two decidedd to go at it again. They always seemed to fight about something these days, and would end up laughing minutes later, but the fact was, he still had to watch the fight. "The party is alive and well Paul, chill okay." he said noting the rather desturbed tone to Paul's voice as he called everyone party poopers. Sam was far from it, but he was warming up to the party level, he had surpassed the pooper part a few beers ago. "JACOB!" he yelled over at the kid who was instucted to get Paul a beer. "You guys shouldn't be drinking to start with, that first one, you both are paying for. Paul, your second is on me.... but Jacob.... make sure he pays you for that first one... yours is free too I guess." he said sighing at the knowledge his beer would be gone probably before Jared showed up. He had been trying to save him at least one, but between himself, Paul and Jake, it was going to be gone in no time.

Paul Alexander. How had those two words, or actually three if she counted his middle name, make her melt anytime she thought about him? Rachels thoughts were plagued with only thoughts of him, which wasn't a big shocker anymore as she made her way to the common grounds between the two packs. The love of her life in one pack and her brother in the other, how had life gotten so complex? Rachel hadn't even believed any of those legends when she was little, they were after all just legends to her. Not something that was real. Ha. How that came back to bite her in the ass. Rachel laughed to herself as she continued walking.
It was still quite chilly out but she knew that in a little bit of time she would be by her heating box. She smiled to herself, he was really nice and warm all the time. That came in handy for days like these. Rachel stuffed her hands into her pockets as she continued forward, her coat was keeping her torso warm but her legs was a different matter.
Once she started to see them, she jogged the last bit of the way. Warmth was only a little bit away and it was all the more motivation to get there faster. As she made her way up there she saw something in her brothers hand then it soon went from his to Pauls, a frown came on her face as she recongized what the can was. Beer. Her nose wrinkled at the thought of it.
Rachel stood in front of him for a moment, looking down at the now emptry beer. “And you are drinking because...?” Rachel asked as she sat in front of him. “If I do remember correctly...I am the only one that is allowed to drink between the two of us.” She settled herself in front of him, leaning against his knees. She wasn't angry that he was drinking but...didn't encourage it. “I agree with Sam, you guys shouldn't be drinking. Especially you Jake.” This was when her sisterly insticts came out. Now if Paul drank...that was different she couldn't stop him but Jake....he was her younger brother. She had looked after him for all those years, she didn't want him to do anything stupid. And he was still very young. Rachel stared at Jacob for a moment before looking to Sam. Shaking her head at him, she rolled her eyes too. There shouldn't have been beer there in the first place.
tagged the pack and imprints. date idk yet. words four twenty. notes this should be an interesting thread.

*I'll watch the night turn light-blue But it's not the same without you~ Pour me a heavy dose of A T M O S P H E R E* Sarah smiled at Anna as she greeted her. She waved a little and then looked over at Sam as she saw him move out of the corner of her eye. He had turned and waved at her. She smiled and waved slightly back. He was her alpha, but she still felt odd around him like she did everyone else. She was youngest and it felt odd hanging around with people that were two years older and up. She turned back to Anna, thinking that she should just stay small and talk to the people who came up and talked to her only, instead of talking to everyone like she would do with everyone her age.
She looked over at Leah as she came. Sarah gave a slight smile to greet her and then turned away when Leah took Jacob's hand. it bugged her that she was almost the only one that didn't have anyone to care for her. And she most likely wouldn't find one in the pack, considering they were all considerably older than her. She sighed and looked back at Anna. That was when she saw that Anna had looked away, too. She smiled slightly and took the water that Anna was handing her. "Thank you." She said, opening the water and taking a small sip. She glanced back over and Jacob and Leah and then turned back to Anna. "It sucks, doesn't it? Not having someone, I mean." She figured she could start a little conversation.

Em yelled out from her car, the car she drove was the four door escalade, it was huge, something she loved driving. Em hadn’t driven in awhile, but she did anyways. She walked over towards Sam and his pack mates, she graced them with her presence just being the giddy Emily herself. Setting the rest of the desserts out on the table she practically skipped on her way to Sam and hopped in his arms, she over heard Sam shouting at Anna and she only felt bad for her sometimes the way how he treated her. She patted Anna and smiled at her, “Hi hon! Find yourself ok? Help me with the food k?” her laugh was pretty sweet, and Em just wanted to have a good time tonight. “Anna, he may not be your Alpha, but YOU'RE Alpha still expects you to respect the other Alpha as if he were your own. Got it?” the girl was living in there house so he still had to be respectful to her too. Emily gave him a stern look almost like she was kidding, “Sam…be nice darlin, so what all did I miss? Hmm sexy,” she whispered in his ear and blushed she couldn’t help but laugh now. Honestly, Em loved being around her family, the pack and people on the rez, this was her home. She didn’t really recognize one person until her eyes adjusted, “Oh my god, Rachel effin Black, when did you get back in town? Hi Sara, good to see you again too, Jake, Leah,” she noticed everyone right away and especially Paul and his attitude. “And Paul….how are you hon?” she ruffled his hair as she came up to him for a sec then went back to Sam before they began to eat the food. Cassandra laughed at Sam's little tease "Sorry Sam,didn't see you there" She said softly as she took a drink of beer from the drink cooler and opened it,taking a sip.She had not much of a taste for beer but she still drank a bottle of two if its there. She was a responsible drinker and always remained semi-sober so she could stop fights if needed. When Cassie saw Emily with the food,She walked over to Sam's imprintee "Hello Emily, did you need help with some of the food?" Cassandra asked as she laughed at Emily raffling up Paul's hair. Cassandra took another sip of the beer she had in her hand. The cold alcoholic drink was icy cold but it didn't seem to cold as it warmed down her throat from her body temperature from her wolf self.. Cassandra's wolf self is what she hid from her sister Mia.It was the only thing she hid,but it was hard to hide espically when Mia asks about where Cassie goes at all sorts of times. Cassandra knows she can't tell Mia till she either becomes a imprintee or never finds out about the wolf inside of Cassie.

He watched as the wolves and imprints came in swarms, well at least to him it seemed like it. Next to arrive was Sarah, one of the newer wolves, he nodded to her not really sure what else to say, but he left it to Anna who had seemed to take over on that front, which he was sort of thankful for. When Leah came into view and slinked her way over to him he just smiled simply, the smile never leaving his face once Leah’s hand was in his, he took another sip of his beer until it was ultimately taken away by his future brother in law – Paul. ‘That asshole!’ Jake thought to himself, knowing better than to say that out loud in front of Sam. Yes Sam wasn’t his Alpha anymore, but Jake still respected him and his opinion and honestly, they were pretty descent friends still after all that and he didn’t want to offend him.
“You look beautiful.” He said to Leah as she asked Sam whether she met the clothing requirement. “But I wouldn’t worry about dressing up too much if I were you.” He said winking at her before letting her go and heading off to get himself another beer. That was until Paul and Sam both yelled at him. Paul wanted another one, and he was honestly considering getting him one, but then Sam yelled at him to stop, then changed his mind. He only groaned to himself about the fact that people couldn’t make up their minds, before heading over and grabbing two, throwing one at Paul.
By the time Cassie came by he was already standing back by Leah with his arm around her waist and the other hand holding the new beer that he was slowly consuming. “Hey Cass.” He nodded towards the girl before looking back at Paul and his sister who had decided to arrive and start yelling at him immediately. “Oh shut it will you Rach? You have Paul to worry about! And may I remind you, he is the same age as me! So if I can’t drink, neither can he, so pick your battles.” He rolled his eyes before leaning over and resting his head on Leah’s for a moment then kissed her forehead.
