Despite the fact that it wasn’t even dark yet, the sun was no where to be found, which didn’t bother Tommy at all. Had it been a few years before, he would have been rather put off by the fact that the clouds nearly always hid the sun in Seattle. But he was past dwelling on what use to be, it hadn’t really gotten him anywhere, aside from a couple of days of loneliness and fights with Bree. Had you seen the two of them at that point, you probably thought that they’d never come to terms with one another. It had taken Tommy a couple of months for him to see the point that Bree had made after changing him, that it was better to be a vampire then to be six feet beneath the earth. That was of course what he’d thought of vampires before the actually became one, that during the daylight hours they slept in coffins or in the earth, but then again he never expected them to actually be real. If he were the philosophical type of guy it would have him really rethinking a lot of things, and really he had the time for it now, he didn’t see himself biting the dust anytime soon.
Expelling some stale air that had sat in his useless lungs Tommy’s blood red eyes scanned the scenery he could see from the mouth of the train tracks cave that he now called his home. He’d been standing at the entrance for a while now, almost as if he was expecting it to rain, for the clouds to just open up and let go. Well actually that wasn’t the only thing he was doing, he was actually reflecting just slightly, more like letting his thoughts drift to the past, or what he could remember of it. It was strange getting use to the fact that most of his memories were becoming blurry and even more difficult to recall. All the negativity of this, of being what he is, he’d taken it unfairly out on Bree when all she had really wanted was some company, he’d even thought about taking the freedom that she offered him after expressing his distain. He’d even accidently made her a victim of his ability once, something he felt terrible guilt for, Tommy had avoided contact for weeks following that.
Sighing, he found he was growing bored of sticking around the tracks all day, Tommy decided he’d head out for a bit of a break, away from all the other vampires inside the cave area. He’d been a vampire longer then any inside so he figured he’d have enough control to be around some humans, if not he’d come back. Leaving his spot at the cave opening, he decided to travel through the forest to make it to down town Seattle, the mall sounded like a good place. It didn’t take him long to reach the wooded area near the mall, and only a few minutes to reach the entrance. Since his eyes were still a vibrant red, he had a habit of wearing sunglasses whenever he went some place public even if he was inside, no one really noticed. Besides, he could just come up with having some sort of condition if it were asked. Stepping inside the mall he took a few minutes to allow himself to get use to the smells, the food was the worse, though the pumping blood of everyone inside was more then tempting but he tried to ignore it for a while.
