The yellow Porsche tore up the long and winding driveway that belonged to the Cullen's house. The tiny driver behind the wheel was none other than Alice. She had spent a whole day in Seattle, shopping. She was happy to be in all of the different shops and stores, buying things not only for herself, but for the family. There were different outfits that she wanted to see Rosalie and Esme in and she knew that her 'sister and mother' were going to like them. That was the one thing about Alice, was her ability to see the future, but she had a feeling that her family would like them just to make the pixie-like vampire happy, but Alice wasn't going to force the clothes on both of them.
Pulling her car into the huge garage, Alice killed the engine. Getting out of the car, she made her way to the trunk. That was the part of the car that was holding all of the merchandise that she had purchased on her 'shopping day'. It was a day that she did at least once every two weeks if not more. She liked to keep everyone's closets stocked with ever piece of clothing her family would need. She didn't like to see any of them wear the same article twice. On those shopping days was also the day she made donations to the local Goodwill. The people that she gave the donations to always seemed happy or a little confused on how this person could have so many items to give to the poor and less fortunate. It was one thing that always made Alice happy. She knew that the outfits would make it to a new home and make someone else happy.
Carrying all the bags up the stairs to the different rooms, Alice stopped at Rosalie's and Emmett's room first. She entered their room and placed the full bags on the floor next to where the clothes were going to be held. She opened the doors and carefully placed the clothes on the hangers in the closet and the other clothes in the different drawers. She did the same thing with Carlisle's and Esme's room, trying not to move their things around while she put things away. The last place she ended up was in her and Jasper's room. She took off her coat and placed it in the pile of things that were going to be washed or taken to the dry cleaners before going to the Goodwill. She had the bags that were also going to go in Edward's room, but she would do that later tonight. Walking the bags towards her side of the walk in closet she smiled as she looked at Jasper's side. She always smiled when she thought of her husband. "I wonder where that husband of mine has run off to, or the rest of my family?" she asked herself as she continued to busy herself with the closet and the clothes.

It was grey and overcast. Just the way Jasper liked it. He hated the sunshine. That wasn't entirely true. He did like looking at his beautiful wife, all radiant and sparkling, beautiful and perfect as always. however the sun always made him feel very exposed. He spent a century in the dark it was only natural for him to feel edgy in the light. They had to stay out of sight on those days. People would no they were different and they'd do the work of the Wolves for them. There'd be panic not to mention a stomping on by the Volturi and that would hurt. Perhaps they'd jump on the opportunity to make an example of the larger Coven or try to poach Edward and Alice from their grasp. Jasper never had been much of a target so unless Aro was somehow unaware he clearly didn't feel there was any use for an empathic, emotion manipulating almost two century old warrior. No. Jasper much preferred the night, the dark, the overcast cloudy days. It was backwards true, but the light reminded him, just like Edward that he was a monster. No one else in the family could truly be classed as such. His humanity was stitched together, sown, piece by piece from a fractured depressed soaked him with only a blip of a heart. he was the least human of the lot. If it wasn't for the fact he could feel their affection for him he'd wonder intensely why they kept him around. He'd probably think it was because of Alice.
He struggled, still, with the bloodlust. They smelled so delicious, they tasted just as good. why did he have to be so useless? he didn't like being the liablity, the one to be watched. It made him feel like a naughty toddler who had to be put on the naughty step or have prviliages stripped because they refused to behave properly. he didn't want to let them down. He didn't think he could take the look of utter disappoinment, the feeling from Carlisle, not to mention the others. Carlisle was immense. Amazing. Jasper was awed by him, there was no other way. He was treated like the child sometimes because he was. The youngest vegetarian. The newest to the family - though technically Alice was just as new, though she slotted in perfectly everywhere. Even the kids at school took to her the best. They could probably sense the monster inside, strapped down with restraints and buckels and harnesses and the trigger? Blood. Simple as a papercut or a slip of the knife. Lukcily scrapes weren't powerful enough to do more than cause him to look as though he had severe cramp.
Jasper lunged at the nearest animal, sinking his teeth into its neck, venom pulsing, the heart beat pounding, the blood rushing down his throat. Unnappealing but easier than it had been in the beginning. The dense forest was pocketed with small openings ideal for feeding. He wasn't alone. Edward was around, to the West, listening intently. Jasper hadn't been in the mood for a competition, not when he was contemplating existance. The leaves were dark green, thick foliage, sparse grass, lots of hard earth lay underfoot. Jasper never got a drop of blood on his clothes. Alice may believe clothes were only good for the one showing but he had his favourites, a few reruns and also some he wasn't so keen on but Alice liked so see him sporting them so he indulged once or twice before they found their way to the nearest bin. He didn't want to hurt her feeligns.
Dark eyes, now amber, Jasper sped home to the big airy house away from the humans, in the forest itself. Secluded. It was their own little haven, the place where they could be themselves. The only other was in Denali with the pleasant siblings. A scent caught him. Alice. He followed it to their room. "Ahh. What newcomers will be joining us today Ali?" Jasper asked with humour when he entered the room. Alice was quite possibly, besides Rosalie, the only one who was privy to his playful side. Edward too he supposed due to his telepathy. Mostly he was a stoic, grim, stone like guy, in the background, ever present but not really noticed. He wasn't one for the lime light anyway.

She had just finished putting away the last of the clothes when she could smell the faintest amount of blood in the air. It was mixed with the scent of her husband, Jasper. He had been out hunting again. It made her happy that he was still in control of sticking to the vegetarian diet that both of them had become a part of when they joined the family. Alice knew that it was very hard for him in the beginning, but she knew that he was going to stay with it. She was proud of how much he was trying and she would tell him every chance she got. As long as they had been with the Cullen’s, Jasper hadn’t slipped up and taken a human life. Even though she knew if he had, he would feel horrible and never forgive himself. Alice however knew that she would be able to forgive him if he did.
Alice let out a bell-like laugh at his question. It was true; there were some ‘newcomers’ in their closet. The many different designers that came in and out of the house would have make and fashionista jealous. She wasn’t trying to flaunt the money that the family had, she just knew that any day the Volturi could come and take her away from her love and family. She hadn’t had a vision of them coming anytime soon, but there was this feeling that she had in the pit of her stomach and un-beating heart that it would change at some point. The Volturi would ask her to join them or they would just take her. She didn’t want to think of how that would hurt or anger Jasper. She just hoped that he wouldn’t do anything that would anger them or get himself killed. She was going to spend as much time with him that she knew that she had.
She made her way over to Jasper and stood up on her tippy toes to wrap her arms around his neck. They were a bit of an odd couple. He was tall and quiet mostly in public. She was tiny and bubbly, but in her mind, they were perfect for each other. Looking up into his golden eyes, she smiled, ”Do you know how much I love you, Jazz? I love you so much I am going to let you hang on to one of your favorite outfits. The reason is I know that our Anniversary is coming up and I want you to wear it.” Alice didn't know what he was planning to do for that day, but she knew what she had planned was going to be something that he was never going to forget for the rest of their eternity together.

To be honest with you, Jasper had only just gotten used to being outside when it was still daytime and the little fragile, delicate humans with their bodies full of hot delicious crimson were out and about. Was it any surprise that sunshine still made him anxious? It was alright, he guessed since they were secluded in their little area of the forest away from mankind and their curious, contrary nature. But what if someone wandered around the back while they were outside? What if they were hunting and somehow happened upon a happless human who got an eyefull of sparklies? These were unlikely occurances and they were careful but you never knew. Wolves and curious humans, reckless ones with little sense of property and ownership and self preservation - people shot tresspassers all the time - just wandered around. They'd smell them of course, they moved faster, thought faster, everything was times ten with vampires but things still happened. Improbable things. Oh. He was picking up on Alice's anxiety. Jasper didn't always ask. it could be about anything. She thought about everything and anything did Alice. Once there was a party...it was chaos. Of course Alice saw that it was perfectly executed. She was good at things like that. what did he do to deserve her?
Jasper wasn't bothered about clothes. He liked nice things, Alice saw to that but he always saw clothes in a practical sense. Alice viewed them as accessories almost, as though they were not quite necessary. it was in his opinion that they were to be worn on several occasions over a long period. They had long enough life spans that they'd wear lots of clothing anyway and they certainly could afford to splash out whever they felt like it. They all had cars, at least one sometimes, they all had fancy rooms, good stereos, an instrument perhaps, books, shoes, clothes. Jasper liked suits best. It suited his professional, methodical and overly thorough personality.
They seemed to be completely opposite but as they say, opposites attract. Sometimes opposites deflected too but they weren't as different as they appeared. They balanced each other out - he was the calm, reserved mellow, while she was the bouncy bubbly happy, but they were both protective, and he was surprisingly mischevious. Sure, he played the exhasperated husband because it was fun but it was difficult to fight someone who already knew you had decided to do with she had asked. There was one word for him: whipped. He wouldn't have it any other way.
Jasper playfull rubbed his nose against hers, his hands settling on her small hips. Her words worried him a little. Of course he knew. He could feel it but it was nice to be told. "I love you too. You can feel it if you like," Jasper smiled. The rest of the family rarely saw it but Jasper often smiled when Alice was around. She was worried about something. Wasn't right. Hmmm. "Just the one? I have three," Jasper said mournfully.
