Knowing this was probably his last chance to transport the two of them while they were in the large city, Edward decided to enjoy himself while he was behind the wheel. That didn’t mean that he took any unneeded risks, no he wouldn’t put Bella into that sort of danger, not when she was a magnet for even the smallest sorts of danger. Because he didn’t need sleep like Bella, he wasn’t aware of how this long trip affected her physically, it was probably a very exhausting trip for her, though if she wanted to sleep he wouldn’t have had a problem with that, he always tried to be accommodating towards Bella and her needed human moments as the two of them often referred to those times. Edward couldn’t help the smile that came to her lips at her comment, it was true, though what else would you expect from a family that contained a vampire who was able to see the stock markets days and months in advance. “Yes, that is my opinion but it could also be no object for you as well” Edward pointed out, they were married and technically what was his was hers which included his finances though he doubted she’d ever use that. He didn’t need her verbal agreement to liking the hotel eventually, her shock and awe was enough confirmation on that. He may not have been able to read her mind but he was starting to gauge her reactions much better then he first had.
When there was no issue from front desk Edward was more relieved then he let on. He wasn’t exactly in the mood to argue with the man behind the desk, in fact had something come up; Edward would have ended it rather easily, of course without making any kind of a scene. After so many years of not wanting to bring attention to yourself, it made things like this rather easy if given a hard time. In earlier years it wasn’t so difficult, age, he’d been able to pull of early twenties, but the more years that passed the more difficult that became with the changing times. Aside from not being in the mood to argue, Edward wasn’t all that fond of using his mind reading ability to manipulate people when it wasn’t absolutely necessary. Once he was finished with the concierge, Edward paid no more mind to any one else in the hotel lobby aside from Bella which he knew for a fact bothered the group of teenaged girls, though he was use to their rather annoying thoughts.
The only difficulty that Edward could possible see with being at this high a height was if he felt the need for a quick hunt which he hoped wouldn’t be the case since he’d spent a few hours doing just that back in forks. Preparations for anything that could happen while they were vacationing, he was always cautious. Edward knew he probably wasn’t the best person to be stuck in an elevator, he didn’t have the most welcoming outward appearance when he was one on one with humans or even other unknown vampires for that matter. He had sifted through many hotels and their rooms with Alice before the trip, trying to see which one Bella would have the best reaction to and he was glad he’d chosen this one, though Alice probably would have preferred he’d picked the more expensive one. As he pulled her closer to him, he also inhaled her scent, relaxing him completely after the long trip of being cramped with everyone else. Hearing her sharp intake of breath Edward gave a soft, short laugh before their lips met. When he kissed her again he smiled against her lips briefly feeling and hearing her heart beat pick up immensely, something he’d come to expect. Surprisingly she was the fist to pull away, rarely she made that move. He couldn’t help but laugh at her comment, “Hmm, yes a bed, quite convenient I’d say.” Edward said looking down at her. “So easily your mind is distracted” he teased her a moment, “We’ve also got a fridge and a menu for room service” he pointed out as if to remind her that she should eat soon

It was true that Bella seemed to attract danger rather easily, for whatever reason. She had her fair share of them, that's for sure. Ones she'd rather not think about right now, or ever for that matter. It was true that while Edward had no needs for normal human things such as eating or sleeping, Bella did. However she hated to make a fuss over such things and tried not to speak up about when she was hungry simply because she felt it bothered Edward even if he acted like it didn't. She felt like a nusiance basically. Sighing when he pointed out that any money of his was hers as well she shook her head. She didn't like that, she'd much rather work for her money. Though she knew that she wouldn't be able to do that for a while after she became a vampire. "Still." She muttered under her breath as she looked at the hotel.
Bella was quiet as Edward chatted with the man behind the desk, seemingly not making a big deal about how young Edward looked. It was a good thing he was very mature, because maturity said a lot about someone. He also dressed a lot more reserved than most men these days. She couldn't even imagine Edward wearing the clothes boys wore these days, like the baggy jeans and huge t-shirts. Really, how did anyone find that appealing? She certainly didn't. It didn't seem like anyone here dressed like that, but then again she could already tell that anyone who was staying here was likely made of money.
It was true that Edward did have to prepare for the trip here, as it would be more difficult to hunt here. In fact, where could he actually hunt? She wasn't sure what type of wildlife lived out here, aside from pigeons and squirrels. Unless he were to go after dogs, the thought disgusted her and she knew he didn't enjoy hunting domestic animals. It was true, that Edward didn't give that vibe off as being very friendly. Which was just the opposite once you got to know him. Though he was very cautious around humans, he didn't seem to care for them much. Though she seemed to be an acception, for whatever reason. Heck, he married her so obviously he must like her for some reason or another. Hearing him close the door behind him she turned around to look at him, unable to help the large smile that played at her lips. She was so glad to be away from everyone else, at least for now. She heard him laugh, which only caused her to blush. She couldn't help the way her heart reacted to him kissing her. Though it could be rather embarrassing at times. "Very convenient." She said breathlessly before grinning, her fingers still tangled up in his hair. "Want to test it out?" She asked in her best seductive tone. What? It had been a while okay?! She blushed when he teased her, saying that her mind was so easily distracted. "Well you distract me very easily." She blamed him teasingly, though it was rather true. She pouted when he brought up food again. Though her stomach seemed to remind her again that she needed food. Sighing she moved off her tip toes and unwound herself from him. Practically pouting at this point she peered around for the menu. She was rather hungry. "I guess I could eat something first, then maybe we could try out that bath, or the bed." She said with a grin. Unable to help herself.

If Edward were to have been a teenage male born in this decade or the one before he was sure that talking his way into having the man give him the key, ensuring that he was indeed Edward Cullen, would not have been this easy. Not only the fact that he was born way before the man he was talking to but he’d retained that mind set for the most part and knew how to talk with a business attitude. That was basically how it was done, at least how it had worked for Edward. You had to know what you were doing in order for you to get ahead in the world, and that was basically what had been doing since he’d first joined Carlisle, though because of his permanent age issue he couldn’t exactly move forward in the world, he could observe though. Unlike with the other trends he had seen over the years, you would never be able to get him into the clothing that males wore today, and Alice would probably have a fit if he came into the house with pants three sizes too big or a t-shirt just as large. The last thing he wanted was to set her off on one of her fashion tirades, he’d already been victim of that enough in the last couple of decades to last him a life time.
Hunting would be a definite issue if he needed to do so. But he figured that it shouldn’t take too long for him to get to the closest forest, all he would need was a deer. He just hoped he wouldn’t have to leave Bella alone in the hotel room too long by herself, putting off hunting just to avoid that would probably be his first choice. Of course Bella could pick up when he was ‘hungry’ just as easily as he could when she herself was hungry, though his eyes were his give away. Staying in the city though wasn’t that appealing prey wise, he didn’t do domestic animals and wasn’t about to kill someone’s pet. Sure he was a vampire but he wasn’t exactly that cruel. Some humans though probably didn’t think that though with his usual temperament towards them. He distanced himself from them, though not usually because they smelt too good but because their were rarely any diversity between their minds. It annoyed him, the similarities most of the time. Of course the one human he probably should have stayed away from because of their scent was Bella, and well there wasn’t a chance you could pull him away from her. Not now anyway, not ever.
When they were finally alone in the room Edward was the most relaxed he’d been the entire trip, but of course he was always like that when he was in Bella’s company she had no issue with what he was and allowed for him to be himself. His smile matched hers as she looked at him, he guessed she felt like he did, happy to spend their time with one another. Smiling softly as she blushed, he chuckled as she spoke moving one of his hands up to the side of her face, still holding her easily with his other arm. “We have several days to test it out” He said, a faint smirk playing at the edges of his lips. When she blushed again he brushed he brushed his thumb over her red cheek. “Sure, blame the innocent vampire” Edward said knowing full well that that wasn’t the case but he’d see how far that could get him, he didn’t expect too far. As she moved to unwrap herself from him he let his arms fall loosely around her, a bit reluctant about it himself. “That’s probably a good idea, well actually both probably are.” Edward told her.

Bella could only imagine what Alice must think of how most of the men had dressed when they were in high school. It must've been torture for her, because she obviously couldn't go up to every teenage boy and just randomly give them a makeover. So she was usually the target for Alice's little makeovers, sadly. She knew Alice meant well but Bella was not fond of them at all. She could only imagine if Edward were to dress how the men did today, how Alice would react. In fact she sort of wanted to see what Alice's reaction would be. Though she had a pretty good idea as to what she would look like. The thought amused her and she couldn't help but laugh at it.
Bella knew Edward had been a bit on edge since they started the trip today and she couldn't blame him, he usually wasn't in a place full of humans for this long. Unless you counted school, though even that wasn't this long. She too was more relaxed to be alone with Edward rather than being in a plane full of strangers. Shivering as he placed his hand softly on the side of her face and told her that they had several days to test out the bed she couldn't help but grin. "Good point, but let's try not to ruin this one." She said in a teasing tone, "Though seeing you trying to explain it to the hotel staff would be rather amusing to watch." Bella admitted with a small laugh at the thought. "Innocent? I think not." She said before grinning again. Still lightly held in his arms, Bella peered around trying to find the bathroom. "I need a moment." She explained to him with a sheepish smile before she headed towards the bathroom.
Flipping the light on she looked around the large bathroom in surprise. Though really, should she be this surprised after finding out that they were staying in a place like this. It had two sinks, and a bathtub separated from a shower, and of course a toilet. The last thing confused her, looking at it with confusion briefly she then shrugged her shoulders before she closed the door. Emerging soon afterwards she opened the door after washing her hands. "So, where should we go to eat?" She asked him curiously.

Fashion wasn’t exactly Edward’s forte, nor did he intend to make it as such. In fact for the longest while Edward, wanting to avoid any sort of confrontations on the subject, allowed Alice to just choose his wardrobe. It was easier that way then anyone could ever expect, unless you truly knew his sister. Though he was rather relieved that he wasn’t pestered by Alice so much now, she seemed to focus all her attention on Bella whom he felt sympathetic towards though it was slightly amusing to see his wife trying to push his sister and her fashion savvy self away from her. It didn’t work, rarely did. He even had difficulty ignoring Alice and he could use her thoughts to his advantage. He was basically caught up in his own thoughts when Bella laughed at something he obviously missed, though he was sure it had something to do with her thoughts since they were the only ones not buzzing at the back of his mind. Looking over at her Edward tilted his head slightly to the side, “What has you laughing?” he inquired curiously, it was the only way he would get to know, and he was sure she was getting use to his asking if she wasn’t already use to it.
Being out of school for as long as he had been in the last year and a half, Edward wasn’t quite as use to human crowds as he ought to be. IT took some time getting use to all the different scents you got from the blood in every human, though his thirst control was well under way that didn’t worry him. It was slightly overwhelming but he did his best to ignore them when he didn’t have to pay much attention to them. It was nice now, just the two of them, but he always felt that way when he was in Bella’s company, she kept him relaxed and his mind off anything that wasn’t of any importance. Edward’s smile stayed on his lips during the bulk of the conversation, though she seemed to always bring that out in him regardless of what they were talking about. “It isn’t my fault if they aren’t made of sturdy material.” he said in defence of himself as she teased him. Laughing at her next comment, he grinned as he spoke, “It could be quite tricky but it might not be an impossible task, I’d need to come up with a rather believable excuse.” he said glancing over at the bed. He scoffed mockingly at her comment, “Well not all innocence is lost on me” he said with a smile as he notice her glancing around the hotel room. When she mentioned that she needed a moment, Edward let her slip from his grip so she could head to the bathroom, “Of course” he said with a nod.
Interested slightly by what the hotel would be offering for food Edward made his way towards where the menu was located. As he crossed the room, Edward moved the luggage to a more appropriate spot for them. Picking up the menu, though he wouldn’t be eating, he looked over the choices. No food sounded appetizing to him, but the ones listed on the menu seemed to be rather exotic in a sense, not something he’d thought most would eat. When he heard the door click, telling him it was once again opened Edward turned and looked at Bella, placing the menu down. “Well I think away from the hotel would be your best option. I’m not exactly an expert in food, but none of this sounds at all appealing.” he said, involuntarily scrunching his nose at the thought. “Since you will be the only one eating, that’s entirely up to you, your choice.” Edward said, it only seemed fair, she was eating so she could pick the place to dine.

Bella was glad she was not the only one to not be that into fashion. Though anything on Edward looked good. Heck he could probably make a potato sack look amazing on him. Then again, he didn't tend to dress himself, Alice picked out his clothes. Or she used to until Edward moved into the cottage with her. Still, Edward seemed to wear Alice's clothes for him that she had put in the closet for him. Of course Edward would find it funny when Bella was being harassed by Alice to try on stuff and her constant comments if she 'just put a little more effort' into how she did her hair and such. Yeah, that wasn't going to change anytime soon. When Edward asked what had her laughing she smiled gently, "Just imagining you dressing like the guys do these days." She explained to him, obviously amused by this thought. Though she knew that Edward would never dress that way, or at least she hoped he wouldn't.
Bella was rather relieved to be done with high school, too much drama if you asked her. Even if she wasn't involved with it at school, she had quite a bit outside of school. Some of it she'd rather not remember. She could only imagine how difficult it must've been for Edward and the others to get used to being around so many humans. Especially for poor Jasper who seemed to have the most trouble with this whole vegetarian lifestyle. Even if he had been with the Cullen's since the 50s, if memory served her right. She was enjoying spending some time alone with him, even if they got that back in Forks. This was their first real vacation alone together, well at least in the states. They had gone to Florida but that was so she could visit her mom. Bella couldn't help but smile as well throughout the entire conversation. It was rather amusing. "No, of course not." She said teasingly when he told her that it wasn't his fault that the bed's weren't made of sturdy material. "Just say there was an earthquake in the room, I'm sure they'd believe it." Bella said, attempting to make a joke. "Sure it's not." Bella said teasingly when he told her that not all innocence was lost on him. After moving away from him she was quick to go to the bathroom. She decided while she was in there she might as well freshen up a bit and moved out to grab her toiletries real quick before going back inside to brush her hair and her teeth.
Once Bella was done she came back out to see him reading what she guessed was the menu. "Really? How come?" She asked before he explained to her that most of the food did not sound appealing. "What type of food do they sell here?" She asked curiously. When he told her that it was her choice of where they ate she tried to think over where they could eat. Or well, where she could eat. "Maybe we can just go for pizza, pretty simple." She said with a shrug.

When she mentioned why she was laughing Edward couldn’t help but grin himself at her thoughts. “I think I would drive Alice over the edge if I showed up at the house like that. If it were a bearable style, I’d dress the part just to see her reaction” he said with a laugh. It would, in his opinion be rather funny to see how Alice would react. Though getting him into that clothing would be a difficult task, it wasn’t his style, even though he tended to do well with switching from decade to decade, there were just some fashion styles that he wouldn’t give second thought too. Edward, though he was finished with high school now, knew that it was only a matter of time before he had to re-enter the school system in another city. Not that he minded that much, just having to begin again as a freshman was a bit bothersome. It was nice to have a little break in which he could spend his days at home, with Bella. Though while they were in school they weren’t apart very long, but it was nice not having the humans of the school watching or analyzing your movements. Unlike the plane though, Edward was able to get away from the alluring human scent at school whenever he pleased, not so easy on a plane that was soaring thousand of miles above ground, not that the fall would kill him.
Even though he and Bella had the cottage to themselves, it still wasn’t the same as an actually vacation which he felt they’d needed. When she’d thought the trip to New York was a good idea, he’d been looking forward to the trip. Though it wasn’t their first together, it would be one of the trips together that they would enjoy. It was one for relaxing and possibly sight-seeing if they wanted too, he didn’t really care he would do whatever it was that Bella would want to do. He grinned as she teasingly agreed with him about the bed, which he thought he had a valid point, though of course no manufacturer would think they’d have to make a bed able to withstand the strength of vampires. “They should anticipate that type of wear and tear.” he added with a chuckle. He laughed at her earthquake comment, “I’m not entirely sure that it wouldn’t work, you’d be amazed at the things I could make people believe.” he said flashing her that crooked smile she seemed to adore so much even though he knew it wasn’t fair what it did to her, but he had to have a bit of fun, did he not? Edward gave her a mocking glare at her comment before she headed towards the bathroom.
While she herself freshened up in the bathroom Edward took a quick minute or two to change his outfit to a more fresh one, though it was similar to the one he’d just been wearing, simple jeans and a sweater over a t-shirt. “Well they just don’t sound like your everyday meals, though of course I haven’t eaten said meals in over ninety years” he said smiling a bit. When she asked about the food Edward listed off a few of the meals highlighted by the menu as guest favourites, trying to keep his own opinions on the food visibly off his face. “Pizza sounds good, or well the idea of it sounds good” he said walking over to where she stood. “I believe we could probably find a pizza parlour near the hotel, in walking distance possibly.” he said, not even entertaining the idea of letting her go by herself since she was the only one eating. Picking up her jacket from where she’d set it down after arriving he held it to help her into it even though it wasn’t needed it was part of his personality that he couldn’t rid himself of nor would he try to do so. “Shall we then?” he questioned her.

"I think you dress up like that for her one time. I want to see what she does." Bella admitted sheepishly with a grin. One thing was for sure, Bella was not looking forward to going back to high school once she was transformed. Though the work wouldn't be as hard, she still hated all of the drama that came with being a high school student. "Yes, because most people worry about vampire's breaking beds." She said teasingly, she enjoyed joking around with Edward every once in a while. Even though her jokes weren't always that great. "Hmm, that's true." She said in agreement when he told her that he could rather easily make people believe the silliest of things. When he gave her that crooked smile she felt her breathing go erratic a little. Why did he always do that to her? Okay, so maybe he didn't always do that to her but still when he did, she got like this and it was rather embarrassing. Bella just smiled at Edward when he sent her a fake glare as she headed towards the bathroom.
When she came back out from the bathroom she noticed he was changed and she contemplated on changing or not. Thinking it would be silly if she was just going for pizza she decided to stay in the outfit she had on for now. "Ah, so now you know what I eat on a daily basis?" She asked in a joking manner, though she trusted his judgment. When he explained what some of the food was her nose scrunched up. "Pigeon? Really?" She asked before shuddering at the thought. She did feel bad that he couldn't even joining her in a meal. Well, he could but human food was not something vampires found appealing. It would be like having her drink blood. Just the thought made her feel a little queasy. Noticing that he was by her now she smiled up at him when he told her that they could find a pizza parlor nearby. "Sounds good." She said with a nod. As he held her jacket open for her she smiled at him before putting her arms through the sleeve. Untucking her hair from the hood she then turned around to face him and zipped up the coat before taking his hand. She just grinned at his question.
Once they were outside, Bella looked around the busy streets. It was completely dark now, but you could still see easily with all the lights around. Noticing a pizza place a couple of buildings and across the street she looked up at Edward. "Found one." She told him before she started to head in that direction. As they got closer to it, Bella moved to open the door and noticed quite a few people in there. Little did she know the thoughts that were going through the guys heads behind the counter as they looked at her. She wondered if the smell of the pizza made Edward feel ill, because it smelt good to her.

Edward smiled at her comment, he was actually a bit curious as to what his sister would do, of course if he was going to do it he’d keep his decision from being set until he wanted to do it. It would keep Alice in the dark longer and unable to know what he was thinking, “I might just do it, I think it would be an amusing experience” he said though he figured he wouldn’t be in the clothing long once Alice saw him, it was very difficult to ignore her requests, though he hoped he’d be unaffected by her persuasive mannerisms soon. He put a thoughtful expression on his face when she mentioned the breaking of the beds. “Well okay, maybe its not something that crosses everyone’s mind, but they should prepare for ever situation” Edward told her, enjoying the fact that the two of them could tease each other like this on a regular basis, not something you would have expected had you saw the way they were when they first met, more of Edward’s decision at that point. “I thought you’d agree” he said in response to her comment. Usually when he had this little affect on her it wasn’t intentionally, at least not most of the time. Of course he knew exactly what he was doing at this point and couldn’t help but give a chuckle at her reaction though it was a rather standard reaction of hers.
Edward’s main reasoning for changing was to get rid of the clothing that had all the lingering scents from the airport, and he wasn’t too fond of having those smells around him for the remainder of the night. Edward smiled at her little comment about her intake of daily food. “Well not quite, but I’m sure I’ll catch on quickly” he said joking with her again. There were some animals on the menu that even Edward wouldn’t kill for food, and his entire diet consisted of simply animals. “Yes, pigeon. That’s what it clearly states, which wouldn’t have thought to be a good thing to advertise as food” he said, though he’d never exactly eaten a bird per say, but they didn’t seem appetizing in the least. Even though he wouldn’t be eating he didn’t have a problem accompanying Bella to the restaurant or wherever it was she would be eating. It was necessary for her to eat, and if he had to order food to make it appear as if he was eating then he would, he just didn’t plan on eating anything he ordered. He nodded when she said that it sounded like a good place, “It shouldn’t be a long distance.” he added as he helped her into her jacket. Lacing his fingers with her own when she took his hand, Edward walked with her to the exit of the suit, making sure to take the pass key with him.
When they were outside, the darkness of the streets did nothing to alter his eyes sight; then again there probably wasn’t much that would. His eyes moved around the streets like Bella’s though his mind was working towards dispelling all the voices into a comfortable buzz that he’d become a custom to over the years. Glancing in the direction Bella did when she spoke he nodded, “Okay” he said and headed towards the place with Bella. When the got to the door, the voices shifted considerably when they were visible to all that were within the pizza joint. It wasn’t difficult to feel that nearly everyone turned and glanced at Bella and himself, the new comers, instantly Edward sense that this was probably not the greatest place for them to be grabbing some food at, and he didn’t exactly feel the need to ignore their thoughts at the moment. Though what he did hear caused his body to tense slightly next to Bella’s as he slipped his hand from her’s just to wrap his arm around her waist in a slightly protective manner. They’re thoughts were rather perverted and not that pleasant, centering basically around Bella and the fact that most of the men in the pizza parlour found her rather attractive, desirable even despite the age gap. Age though seemed to be something they were overlooking in their thoughts. A couple of them even sized him up, debating whether they could get away with making a move on Bella, they were highly underestimating him. Before they could get too far in the door, Edward stopped the two of them from going any further, “I’m not to certain that this is the best place for you to grab some pizza Bella” Edward whispered leaning down to her level a bit glaring at the man whose thoughts were more frequent and the most perverted.

Bella couldn't help but smile as well, it was hard not to smile when Edward did. That was for sure. "Hopefully Alice doesn't see it coming." Bella winced at the thought, knowing that it was very possible that Alice had just seen it. In fact, Bella wouldn't be too surprised if Alice called up and told Edward to not even think about doing that. Grinning when he spoke up, saying how they should prepare for every situation she couldn't help but laugh a little. "Even vampires having sex with their human wives?" She asked teasingly, unable to keep the grin off of her lips. Of course they hadn't always been like this, but they both did have a dry sense of humor. They had a lot in common, actually. However they also had their differences. Bella couldn't help but glare a bit when he told her that he thought she'd agree with him. He had a way of persuading people so easily, and she had been 'dazzled' by him often. Basically everyday. She knew he was aware of what he was doing. At least most of the time.
Bella didn't feel like changing just yet, especially since they were just going to get pizza, or well she was, and then she planned on coming back to the hotel. She wasn't sure if Edward would be up for what she had in mind, or if she was really. She was pretty jet-lagged. Not to mention she had to be up rather early this morning. No thanks to Alice who had to make sure everything was packed. She smiled back at Edward at her own joke, She just laughed at his joke. "Bleck, that sounds gross. Who would actually eat that?" Her nose scrunched up at the thought and she was glad that she was just going to get pizza. Bella was a bit wary of trying exotic foods, in fact she had more than her fair share when her mom would cook. She shuddered at the memory of one experimental dish her mother had made. Bella was still amazed that people never really got suspicious when Edward didn't ask for food or finish his meal, or maybe they did but didn't say anything out loud. "Hopefully not. I heard that food isn't hard to come by here." She said as she slipped into her jacket and thanked him for holding it open for her while she did. Smiling up at him when he laced his fingers with hers she headed out the door and had been about to ask if he had the key when she saw it in his hand.
It was noisy outside, which wasn't a surprise. Though it still felt weird to Bella, she never though she'd be in New York City and yet she was now. She knew her mother had wanted to come here sometime and she felt a bit guilty that she hadn't gone with her mother first. Bella did feel bad for Edward, because there was so many people around here his head must be filled with all of their thoughts. Smiling up at Edward when he nodded she continued to make her way over towards the place. Bella was trying to think already of what type of pizza to get, apparently the pizza around here was supposed to be good. Jumping when a random car honked, Bella then blushed. She hoped to get used to the noises of the city. Sure Phoenix had been busy but this was different. Plus she had been living in Forks for quite some time now, she had grown somewhat accustomed to the quietness that came with living in a small town. It took Bella moment to notice that a lot of the attention was on her and Edward and her cheeks instantly went red. Did they look that out of place. Moving her gaze over to Edward to see if he noticed she then felt his hand move from hers and his arm slid around her waist in what almost felt like a protective manner. Now she was worried, was something going to happen? Of course Bella was unaware of the thoughts of the customers and employees and she kept her gaze away from them. Feeling a bit foolish of just standing there by the door. Edward stopped moving, which had her stopping as well. When Edward leaned down and whispered in her ear that he thought eating here was not the best idea she frowned slightly before looking up at Edward and then over at the man he seemed to be glaring at. She shuddered lightly when the older man gave her a rather disgusting look grin and she automatically felt almost violated. "Maybe we should go somewhere else." She whispered before she moved to turn around and walk out, feeling rather embarrassed to be quite honest.

Edward chuckled at Bella’s comment. “Well I’ll do my best to see that she doesn’t see this coming. Maybe I’ll even see if Emmett will join in, he tends to like to amuse himself in that sort of manor.” Edward said with a grin, it would interesting to see, which was why aside from speaking to Bella about it was completely wiped from his mind. Edward couldn’t help but enjoy himself like he was with Bella, it was difficult not to feel this comfortable with Bella. “Especially that” Edward said, a serious tone to his joking undertone as he spoke jokingly with her. It wasn’t very often that you got to experience this sort of behaviour from Edward, but he opened up completely with Bella. Most probably wouldn’t expect this from him but that was mostly because they didn’t really know him by means of his own choice of course. Edward answered her glare with a slight smile knowing that she didn’t always like it when he ‘dazzled’ here, whether it was on purpose or simply by accident. Until Bella had categorized it as ‘dazzling’ people Edward really hadn’t taken notice to how it worked, or what he was really doing he could just simply mould them using their thoughts, which wasn’t exactly the most moral thing to do but that would just be getting into a whole other discussion.
The changing of clothing wasn’t just because he didn’t want to smell the vast array of humans he had come into contact with over the long trip but because he’d spent at lest three decades living with Alice. A change of outfit was usually thought necessary by the pixie vampire and it was only natural that it wore off on the others in the house that she seemed to hound daily until they succumbed to her ways. It usually didn’t take too long for that to happen. Luckily though Edward wasn’t suffering from jet leg, though he’d never really experienced it not having flown in his first seventeen years of life when he could have experienced something like that. He adapted rather easily but of course that was courtesy to his being a vampire. “It does sound rather unappealing, but apparently it’s a delicacy for most of those that stay here.” Edward said looking over at her chuckling as she scrunched up her nose, much like he had done moments before when he first glanced over the menu. Edward was glad that he wasn’t able, or well he was, just wasn’t about to eat the food on the menu. He would just continue to order his food but not touch it, unless he felt or rather heard their suspicions while he was at a restaurant. “Hmm, yes that’s what I’ve heard too. I’m sure it’ll be a quick walk” he said as he held her jacket out for her, mentioning a ‘your welcome’ when she thanked him. As they walked out the door, Edward made sure the room was locked before slipping the key card into the front pocket of his jeans, figuring that would be the least likely place that it would get lost or slip out of.
It wasn’t exactly Edward’s first time to New York City, and he doubted it would be his last, but it had been a while since he was last here, and though he wasn’t exactly one for shopping like a few other’s in his household he actually enjoyed being in the city. Stepping out on to the streets, and even the hotel lobby Edward was swarmed with thoughts, but being surrounded by people on an almost regular basis while he was putting up the high school front didn’t make it difficult for him to turn the voices into a mere buzzing almost allowing him to forget about them, though at the same time he was listening just in case someone’s thoughts suggested that they were a bit too suspicious of himself. Edward returned the smile Bella gave him as he continued to walk across the street with her, turning his head quickly towards the direction of the car that honked returning a glare of his own then the driver looked at them before they moved on. The city noises weren’t something that bothered him, those noises were easily ignored despite that he could hear every engine breaking within a few miles. It were those noises that humans didn’t notice that Edward took some getting use to though it was just everyday noises of a difficult setting. Attention was never something that Edward liked, it wasn’t something you really wanted when you were trying to hide the fact that you were a vampire and trying to fit in with everyone around you. So the attention they were getting was not at all something he liked, and he doubted Bella enjoyed it very much either. Though he stopped and a few people were wondering silently why, Edward turned his golden eyes to the menu pretending to be checking out what there was to order, though he was dealing with thoughts he’d rather not hear about his wife as calm and collected as he could. “Yes, maybe we’ll find what we’re looking for at some other place” Edward said just loud enough so that it could be heard why they were leaving as he turned with Bella to leave the pizza shop, though not before giving the man another icy glare.

Smiling at him when he chuckled at her comment, she couldn't help but laugh at the thought of what Alice would do if she were to see Edward dressed like the boys did today. "Oh you know he would so go for it." Bella said through a small laugh. Bella always enjoyed her time with Edward. As corny as it may sound, she treasured every second she spent with him. In the back of her mind, a tiny piece of her was always worried that he may leave her again. You could say she had some issues that she still needed to resolve from when he had left her. A wider smile spread across Bella's lips when he said 'especially that' to her teasing question. "I suppose they should be prepared for that." She said, trying to be serious, but it was hard to be. Trying to keep the glare on her features, she found a bit hard to when he gave her that damn smile. "You're so cruel sometimes." Bella told him, her lower lip jutting out slightly. He knew what he did to her, or at least she thought he did.
Bella was sure that Edward didn't care to have the scent of humans on him all night long, and neither did she. Someone in particular on the plane had rather bad BO. She could only imagine how Edward must've handled it, especially since his sense of smell was much more enhanced than her own. Then again he could hold his breath he entire trip and not die. Unlike her. She was sure after the flight she smelt a little, hence her wanting to freshen up before they went out. "Yuck." Bella sounded when he explained to her that it was a delicacy for most that stayed here. "What do they do? Go outside and capture the pigeons?" She asked sarcastically. Really though, how could people enjoy that? It sounded repulsive. "Yeah." She said in agreement to him telling her that it would probably be a quick walk to the nearest pizza place.
Unlike him when the car honked, she had not glared at the driver. In fact she hadn't even noticed he had done so as she was too embarrassed to turn around and see if anyone had seen her jump. She could get so easily embarrassed at times. Like right now, with the attention not only on Edward but her as well. Did they really look that out of place? She could feel her face going bright red and she was quick to look down at her shoes rather than look up and see all of the people, mostly men staring at her. Peering up at Edward as her hair fell in front of her face she nodded and turned around and began to walk out of the pizza place as fast as she could. Tripping over her shoe lace she stumbled on the stairs briefly before she caught her footing. Her face went even redder as she heard a few snickers from inside the pizza parlor. "Where should we go?" She asked Edward once they were further away from the pizza place.

Edward kept the smile on his lips, though it turned slightly towards a grin as the thought surfaced again. Though he wasn’t sure how long he’d pull the outfit off for if he were to do it, surely it couldn’t be all that comfortable. “Hmm, probably without much convincing.” he said with a grin. Edward liked being alone with Bella, one of many reasons as to why he liked that they had the cottage for themselves. He didn’t like to be away from her for too long a period of time, actually it was rather hard for him to be away from her even for a simple hunting trip. He had spent too many months away from her, most of which he spent longing to be by her side again, to enjoy any sort of time away from her. Those thoughts, of his absence, would never be something that he would be able to get away from, he’d already stated to her he’d never forgive himself for doing so and he wouldn’t. He nodded when she agreed with him, pulling off the straight face easier then she did, “It would be the logical thing for them to prepare for.” Edward said before a smile tugged at the corners of his lips. At her next comment Edward laughed, “Only when its intentional.” he said with a wink, though he took the smile off his lips, at least the one that seemed to give her the most trouble when it came to breathing.
The plane ride hadn’t been too bad, there were just a lot of humans in a very cramped space with poor air circulation. The scents that Bella could smell wouldn’t’ have been all that bad, if he also was forced to take in the scent of their blood, but he had managed rather nicely, only holding his breath when the man with the bad body odour stirred the air a couple of times. For that he felt bad for Bella since she couldn’t exactly hold her breath like he could. When Bella stated her dislike for the food on the menu he smiled slightly. He had a couple of animals he placed on a personal do not eat list, any type of bird just happened to make it onto that list along with domestic animals. “That would be my guess, unless they raise them just for the purpose of serving them to the guests here” he said answering her sarcasm though it wasn’t exactly necessary. Edward thought that a pizza place was probably one of the more appropriate place to go, Bella would just be able to grab something for herself and it wouldn’t seem odd that he wasn’t getting anything.
Ignoring the cab driver shortly after the little dispute about the car Edward walked forward with Bella. He kept himself a bit more aware of his surroundings now though, just in case they had another mishap with a taxi. Edward didn’t mind attention being on him, well for the most part when they were just staring it wasn’t something too annoying. Though when their looks and glares were accompanied with their rather impolite thoughts it got under his skin more then he liked it too. Edward did his best to keep his attention turned forward as they walked back out of the pizza place, a difficult task as the men’s thoughts weren’t discouraged as the two of them walked back out. So far he had been rather happy with how he handled that, it could have been worse, or at least that was his thoughts until Bella stumbled slightly, Edward helping her stay balanced. At their snickers missed with their thoughts a very low growl slipped through his lips. “Sorry” he muttered after swallowing most of the growl that he’d allowed. “Umm, I’m not sure. What about a restaurant, or diner?” he asked, it would probably be easier on his mind set.

"I don't think Emmett would need any convincing." Bella said with another laugh. She wondered if Alice would see this already, and was half-expecting a call from her dear sister-in-law, ready to yell at them both that it wasn't going to happen. She really enjoyed living at the cottage that Esme had built, with the help of the others. It wasn't the biggest of places, but Bella actually liked that in a way. She didn't have to worry about there only being one bathroom, because really only Bella needed it. Unless Edward had gotten dirty and needed to take a shower, though he always seemed so neat that she saw it as unnecessary for him to have to do so. The only downside, at times, could be the amount of bugs that could come in, as they were essentially living in the middle of the woods. Bella really wasn't crazy about bugs, then again who was? She would never admit to Edward, but she really hated it when he left her, even though it was necessary. At times she almost became panicked, mostly because of what had happened a few years back. It was silly for her to worry so much, because she knew Edward would not leave her again. However, sometimes it was hard for her to convince herself of that. She still felt like she was way too lucky to have him in her life, and that it may as well be a dream. A wonderful dream that she would wake up from at any moment and find he did not really exist, that their love was nothing but something her mind had made up. She let out a soft laugh when he told her that it would only be logical for them to prepare for such a thing. She tried her best to look mad at him when he told her that he was only cruel when it was intentional, but it was hard to do so.
Of course Bella was aware that Edward could smell things a lot better than she could, but he could also hold his breath for however long he felt like doing, as it wasn't necessary for him to breathe. For her, however, it was and therefore she had to deal with the man with the bad body odor. Really, was it that hard to take a shower? She noticed a slight smile come to Edward's lips as she mentioned how disgusting some of the food on the menu was, and expensive too. It was ridiculous, and therefore she though pizza would be okay. It was cheap after all. "Yuck." Bella sounded with a look of disgust when he explained his theories as to how they went about getting pigeons.
Bella made sure to keep up with Edward, as he could walk unintentionally fast at times. Bella had to becareful when walking, as it was all too easy for her to trip. She really hated being so damn clumsy, it was a curse, it really was. It was probably best that Bella wasn't able to hear these mans thoughts, as she would feel very violated, even more so then she did now with the stares they were giving her. Bella was relieved to be out of there now, as she felt very uncomfortable when she had been in there. Bella heard a slight growl rumble in Edward's chest and cringed, the last thing she wanted was for Edward to attack these people. Even if they deserved it. "It's okay." She said quietly when he apologized. Not having a chance to really look at the city before, she looked up at the darkening sky. However, with all the lights surrounding the city, it was hardly necessary for it to be light out. Looking back over at Edward when he suggested a restaurant or a diner she had no idea where any of those were and pulled out a map that she had gotten of local shops and such. "There's an Olive Garden nearby, we could take a subway there." She suggested as she looked from the map and up at him. "If you're okay with that." Bella added, not sure how much he'd like to be in a subway with a bunch of people.

Edward laughed, “No I don’t think he would either.” he agreed with her, though he was sure that Alice would not be impressed which seemed to make it a bit more amusing and it would be something that Edward would like to surprise his sister with. Like Bella Edward really liked the little cottage that the family had given them. There were many reasons behind that, a few of them obvious reason of course, he figured it was probably a lot easier on himself and the family seeing as their thoughts were their own and he wasn’t bothered by them. It was also a perfect size for the two of them, since really Bella was the only one that used the normal facilities such as the kitchen and the bathroom. Though occasionally after a hunt, depending on how fierce the animal was, he would need the shower but that was basically the only time he used the area. There was really only one thing with their relationship that he didn’t care for and that was just the fact that periodically he had to leave her to go on a hunt. He hated having to do so, but knew he couldn’t go without though a couple of times he’d put it off long enough that he’d lost the colour to his eyes but Bella wasn’t too fond of that idea. He’d minded it this much when they’d first started dating, but since that long period of time they spent apart because of his doing, leaving her for a long period of time (even if just for a day or two hunt) he felt a slight tinge of guilt almost like he was abandoning her. He’d have to forgive himself for leaving her in the first place in order for him to get over that and well he didn’t see that happening any time soon. Edward still wasn’t completely sure what had caused to easily take him back but he wasn’t going to question it, he was just grateful. Edward smiled at her when she laughed at his comment, his smile turning to a smirk as she tried to stay upset with him but saw it wasn’t that easy for her, it wasn’t easy for him to be upset with her either.
There were many times when it came in handy not having to breath, and the plane ride here had one of the places where Edward had utilized that ability of his. Not only were there a mass amount of humans and their unique scent, but a few that had body odour issues and those weren’t so pleasant. Not to mention there had been some food cooking or heating up and that was never a smell that Edward cared for. This menu was probably the first time the two of them agreed on food and the fact that it wouldn’t taste good, at all. He couldn’t help but laugh as she said ‘yuck’ to his theories, which he had to admit covered the idea of it.
Walking with Bella at first had taking some getting use to, he easily forgot to keep it at a much slower pace then what was usual for him. But he was getting better at remembering to keep it at a pace she could keep up with. At times similar to now, where he heard the thoughts of the men, he was conflicted on his ability to be able to hear them. It would be nice not to hear about how they felt towards Bella, though it helped knowing what they were thinking so that they knew when it wasn’t such a great place to be for food. Of course their thoughts bothered him much more then he was letting on but he did his best to make sure that it wasn’t too obvious though it was hard to get his expression to match how he wanted to appear at certain times. He was able though to stifle the growl so that it didn’t sound as loud as it would have, he still didn’t like that Bella heard it though. When she said it was okay after he apologized, he turned and smiled at her as he relaxed himself. Most of his muscled had tense out of reflex causing him to tense slightly so it took a moment before he was completely relaxed again. When she mentioned that there was an olive garden near by he nodded, “That sounds better.” he said as they walked, “I think I would be okay with the subway.” Edward said looking down at her with a soft smile, though he wasn’t sure how well that would go over.
